As of yesterday a new firmware update is available for MAG 274QRF QD E2. I downloaded both the firmware and the update tool. But when I open the update tool, the FW Update button is greyed out and it shows "Device Disconnect..." The current fimware on my monitor is FW.014 and the new available one is FW.015. The monitor is connected to my pc via DP and USB B that came with the monitor. The MSI Gaming Intelligence app works fine as it is connected via usb.

I tried everything but the "Device Disconnect..." keeps showing and can't update the firmware.

1.Please connect DP-DP cable between monitor and desktop system that with NVIDIA or AMD graphics card.
Don’t use any adapter. Example: HDMI to DP / USB C to DP.

2.Please install latest driver for NVIDIA or AMD graphics card.
For NVIDIA graphic card, please install RTX 30xx or latest.
For AMD graphic card, please install RX 50xx or latest.

Please contact MSI directly if still.

I also have the same problem:
1- connection via DP x DP
2- the monitor communication cable that comes with the box is installed.
3- the software game inteligense is working normally
but when I use the firmware update tool, I get the same problem and it says it is disconnected.
I have tried several times, changed cables and nothing, it is still disconnected.
I saw that in older versions of the software game inteligense there was an option to update the firmware and in this version that is available today there is no longer the option more.

I use an RTX 3070

Do you use DP to connect to monitor?

my GPU is a

RX 6950 XT Sapphire

3- the software game inteligense is working normally

de-install it, reboot then retry.

2- the monitor communication cable that comes with the box is installed.

Try different USB port on your PC, USB 2.0 ports are preferred

De-install [MSI Gaming Intelligence app], then retry with updater tool.
If needs try another USB port of your PC.
Else try to update it from another PC.

Yes I'm using DP to connect to monitor. I uninstalled the gaming intelligence app, connected to a different usb port and rebooted the PC... But still getting the same "Device Disconnect..." message.

Hi,
In my case I do regret updating to this firmware. The monitor is on sale right now and i'm using my old LG monitor for the moment. This firmware literally crushed the whites - white saturation to be exact. Even at 30-35 brightness and 50 contrast the image quality is unbearable. Even made a post here asking MSI to give us the option to return, if possible, to FW.013 but no go. So yeah. I would have considered myself lucky if the firmware update had failed. :(

MSI really has bad support, releasing software and firmware that you can't even install.
I don't think I'll want to update anymore after Cristian's statement.
I'll leave the current firmware fw.13 because the monitor is working fine.
I won't risk it until they create a safe solution.

Hi all.

Where do I download this firmware update? The is not option for me to update firmware in the deeply ironically named 'Gaming Intelligence' app, and the support page for the E2 edition only has the monitor driver and no firmware updates. Where are you guys getting this firmware update from?!

I realise people are raising issues with it but the KVM doesn't work over USB-C on any of the multiple devices I have tried.

Have you found a way to install it ?
I'm trying to install the FW017 and the FW Update Tool still doesn't work saying "Disconnect...", I wonder if it could be an issue on Windows 10 ?

The screen is connected via DisplayPort, the USB is connected and the screen is recognized in Gaming Intelligence, I tried other cables, other USB ports, uninstalling Gaming Intelligence, nothing works.
