I received this from MSI support:
Thanks for contacting MSI technical support.
Regarding your concern,
1) Have you done any Special settings in bios or OS?
2) Please unplug the power supply and CMOS battery for a while.
3) Please check the CPU/Motherboard temperatures in OS , are they very high?
4) Please use anti-virus software to detect the system and remove the suspicious software or programs.
5)Please check the system disk for bad sectors.
6)Update all drivers to the latest version.
7) Please just install one piece of RAM to test again. You can test the graphics card and ram with some software for a try.
8) Please unplug the power-cord and check the cpu, is there any CPU pin bending or fracture?
9) If you have other spare, you can install a clean OS to check again.
Thanks for your cooperation in advance!
Best Regards,
MSI Technical Support Team
My answer:
Dear MSI Technical Support Team,
Thank you for your response.
I would like to follow up with the actions I’ve taken and respond to your questions:
1) I downloaded and installed the latest BIOS from your website (uploaded on 14/05) using the Flash BIOS button and a USB drive. The update completed successfully, but unfortunately, the issue persists—still no display and both CPU and DRAM LEDs remain on.
2) I unplugged the power supply and removed the CMOS battery for approximately 15–20 minutes before reinstalling it. This also had no effect.
3) Since I am experiencing a complete black screen with no video output, I am unable to access the OS to check CPU or motherboard temperatures.
4) I was previously using Norton Antivirus, but due to the black screen and inability to boot, I cannot run or access any software currently.
5) My system uses a Western Digital SN770 2TB NVMe SSD (not an HDD). Again, I cannot run disk checks due to the lack of display.
6) I am unable to update any drivers at this time because I cannot access the operating system.
7) I use G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB DDR5 RAM (2x16GB). I’ve tested each stick individually in different slots (A2, B2, A1) both before and after the BIOS update, with no change in behavior.
8) My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, which uses an LGA socket with no pins. I carefully inspected the CPU and socket for any visible damage, but found none.
9) I dont have other ssd or hdd.
(Also on the back of the motherboard it used to have a green light on the ethernet cable now its off, also if I connect my keyboard or mouse it doesnt turn on they have leds, but if i plug a usb to the pc and my mobile phone, mu mobile phone its charging which means it received electricity from the pc) (if this helps)
Given the steps already taken and the persistent issue, could this indicate a possible failure with the motherboard or CPU? I would appreciate further guidance.
Best regards,
