Hi,
I bought a Gigabyte Radeon AI PRO 9700 AI TOP, a 2 slot blower card, but it seems it doesn't fit, I think it's touching the chipset heatsink. It's maybe 1 or 2 millimiters too high, anyone had a similar problem? The pcie retaining clip mechanism doesn't move to lock the board when I press the button, seems it's missing maybe 1 mm of clearance. Is the heatsink removable?
Prior to the R9700AI I had a Sapphire Radeon 9070xt NITRO+ that's bigger but fits no problem.
This is the card I'm trying to fit: https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-R9700AI-TOP-32GD-rev-11

While the chipset heatsink is removable in theory, you don't wanna do that, the chipset on AM5 gets comparatively hot to begin with, and without a heatsink, it will be in big trouble.

Just look at what kind of heatsink they need for that small chipset:

It would immediately overheat without it.

What part of the card is touching it?

You basically have a few possible solutions. If you don't care about the warranty, you could try to "work on" the chipset cooler and/or the card, and maybe try to take off a bit of material or something. Of course away from the board, you don't want metal filings anywhere.

Or, if you admit defeat and want to keep the warranty intact, you would probably have to use a riser cable and mount the card in another way. Or get a different card.

WHile it is a close fit, there will be no problem with the Mothebaard

On the GPU PCB, there are several small bumps from the breakaway tabs. Last time a Person had fitting problems, one of the breakaway tabs was a bit too long and connected with the Heatsink on the Motherboard
