I BOUGHT A 240 R IN AUGUST it started to die in January by early February it wasn't cooling at all recall page says no eligible and iam not paying 25 bucks to mail them their defective product if i were you i would throw it in the trash where it belongs and get a good air cooler, and iam currious has anyone actually been able to get a "recall" number from them or is it just public relations crap and they aren't really replacing them. it did work great for a few months but i would expect a company like msi to actually stand behind their product no just say they are and don't really do it pretty sad and they have lost a 20 year customer over this, probably bought 100 or so video cards for computers over the years making them for friends, family but this complete lack of standing behind their product has destroyed any trust in them

Well, in my case, I just installed the new 240R V2 that I received from the RMA (the old one was a V1).
CPU temps look normal again (28ºC idle / 60ºC Full load in a i7-9700K non OC).... let's see if this time last for more than 2 years :)

How long did it take from day you posted faulty one, to the day new one arrived?

Well. From Spain, I had to send it to Poland (prepaid UPS). It took 6 days to arrive. Another 2 days until MSI confirmed that unit was to be replaced and another week after that waiting the cooler back.

It has been installed now for 3 days.... temps look good for now, but I will keep monitoring in the following months.

Ah they finally give out a prepaid labels? That's cool. Happy it worked out, for once (lol).

Hi again. Sorry i'm replying an old post.
My second 240R v1 that i got from RMA in February 23 2022 died too. All of a sudden, pump started to make noise. Noise was really loud today so i checked ingame CPU temp and i saw 85-90C.
I will send it to RMA again and i hope this time they will give me a 240R v2.
First one lasted about 3.5 months and second one lasted about 3 months. It's really frustrating.

I just recently had to uninstall my 240R due to extremely high temps, under idle and pushing 100* when gaming. I heard on 05/21/2022 that there was a recall, due to blockage from debris buildup in the block. However, when I submitted my S/N I was told that I was not eligible for their RMA exchange.

MSI doesn't exactly know which products are faulty imo. Cuz it says the same for my first and second faulty 240Rs. Both died after usage of 3-3.5 months.
I just sent my second faulty 240R to MSI Turkey RMA, i hope they will give a working one this time.

Welcome! For me, after 2.5 months, I had to disassemble and clean the 240 version ... the PC runs 12 hours a day, I do not have time for MSI RMA, so I preferred to spend these 2 hours and do it myself. R7 5800x after UV ppt 120 tdc 80 edc 110 in cinema r23 hit 90 degrees ... at the beginning it was 82 with UV and and over 90 normal ... I disassembled it, rinsed it several times with IPA solution, deminarelized water, poured Borygo (car coolant) + a little demineralized water, the next day, water was added after complete deaeration, the buildings must be on the front of the housing and success! The temperature at 20 degrees in the R23 cinema without UV does not exceed 83-84 degrees, aida64 82 degrees, due to the higher density of the borygo, the speed of the pump slightly decreased from 4180 to 3920 RPM. MSI what the hell is this! How can you get dung !? Gentlemen, Reviewers, please respect yourself and not praise trash! This is another msi product that has let me down.

I was considering pulling it apart and cleaning it myself as well. I have already replaced it with a Galahad 360 and that one has been working great. I can still use the 240R in a secondary build I am working on as a plex server. shouldn't be under too much load on it so we shall see.

My SN 240r is not on the list ... I believe they all have this problem!

Hello I also have the same problem, but I managed to get the RMA through the recall on the 29th of july I sent the email to support on the 1st of august they sent the UPS label on the 2nd I sent it through the courier and on the 8th it was delivered to Poland now I am waiting for the response from msi I hope they are quick because I need the computer.

Hola mi nombre es Julio soy de Argentina y tuve el mismo problema con un 360mm de msi hice el reclamo pero no se hicieron responsables .
Así q lo q hice fue desarmarlo y vaciar el radiador y lo q encontré es como un sarro q hace q no circule bien el agua así q lo limpie todo y le cambié el líquido tenía 5 meses de uso nunca más compro otro producto igual cuando se rompa del todo vuelvo al disipador por aire..
