Hello,

I just finished building my new PC and everything went well. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and booted for the first time, no problems.

In the BIOS everything looks fine but I'm concerned about the CPU core voltage reading. Using a Ryzen7 8700G I'm getting a CPU Core Voltage reading of 1.454v.
The Bios settings are all default, I didn't change anything just observed the readings.
Is 1.454v too high or is it normal? Searching Google results in conflicting opinions and answers so I'm hoping someone here can confirm.
Thanks

Bios readings...
CPU Freq: 4.20

CPU Base Clock: 100.00 Mhz
CPU Ratio: 42.0
CPU Core Voltage: 1.454

Bios ver: 7D76vAJ

MAG Mortar B650M Wifi, latest Bios
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8700G
RAM: G.Skill DDR5 6000, 32GB

CPU core voltage is dynamic so it could go up and down, and it's possible to see AMD 8xxx CPU core voltage goes above 1.4V for a certain period.
You can also check CPU voltage using AMD Ryzen Master under Windows.

Good to hear. I wasn't sure as I'm new to this and a Google search wasn't much help. Some people claim it's too high, while others say it's the norm for some AMD chips at idle.
I will check again with Ryzen Master once I get an OS loaded.

Thanks again

It's post such as this that may get confusing for beginners...

CPU is always loaded under BIOS menu, so CPU voltage would be higher than when it is idle under Windows.
CPU core voltage under Windows is closer to real-life scenarios.
