Hello!!!

I put in a ticket for this, but I wanted to see if anyone else had the problem or knew how to fix it.

After updating the latest BIOS for the Tomahawk MB, I had a strange issue when the PC woke up from sleep. The BIOS update went fine, and the system is running fine. After waking from sleep, the debug LED stops showing the temp but instead shows a code of 08. The system is fine, and there are no issues. In addition, if I open MSI Center, the code switches to 00. If I reboot, the LED shows the temp until it wakes from sleep. As I said, the system is working perfectly fine.

Thanks for any info!!!

I also have the same result after updating both the BIOS and LED firmware. I will add also that HWiNFO64 fails to launch getting stuck on searching for ata/sata devices I believe.

This is what MSI came back with:

Ticket:
Error Code

I can send the request to our team for review.

However, we do not recommend using sleep or hibernate, as it may cause issues with system not loading drivers correctly or other hardware issues.

If the system is working perfectly fine when not using sleep mode, then the hardware should be good. It would be concerning if the system were to have issues after boot up from shutdown.

Thank you.

Yea that isn't the answer. So don't use sleep and you wont have the issue. Sure.

Please provide full system configuration including CPU model, BIOS settings as the post advises: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/posting-guide.38822/

Exact same issue, stuck on code "08" after sleep. Pc otherwise works fine.

Do not use Sleep Mode and make sure to disable it.
According to reports on Reddit (a large thread about ASRock and Ryzen 9000), there have been CPUs that failed after entering Sleep Mode.I feel like AMD and Sleep Mode have never really worked well together — there were already some issues back on AM4.

Don't use Windows sleep? So you power down your PC manually, or leave it on?
I have to manually make my PC sleep since (as you've pointed out), these things rarely go to sleep on their own - I have nothing keeping the PC awake and have ran every test including detailed sleep studies down to disconnecting every USB peripheral to ensure it's nothing to do with USB devices. Even tried adding PCIe power saving but this thing will NEVER sleep by itself.
But I don't need it staying on 24/7 so not many options left, unless you have suggestions?
