MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI Beta BIOS

New bios did not fix the long running PCIE training bug. Still stutters/black screens/reboots when PCIE gets trapped at 1.1x-2.0x every other boot with MSI 800 series motherboard, 9800X3d and 50 series cards. Might be time to throw in the towel on this board.

Do these betas ever come with some sort of patch notes? Im anxiously awaiting a pcie training fix for my system interrupts(stutters) that so many of us have. Its making me never want to buy msi ever again. 420$ board that ive had so many headaches with. First time ive ever went for the premium board. Feeling regretful. Msi support gaslit me and told me nobody is having this issue. I even sent them forum links and they didnt care.

I’m in the exact same boat as you. First MSI, never had major motherboard problems throughout my decades of pc buildings. Should have stuck with gigabyte!

I can't update this board from version 1A1 because of the PCIe 1.1 stuck issue. It's been five months now. FIVE months! They're deliberately ignoring the problem. Honestly, if I had the time and resources, I would sue MSI. I've never seen such a disaster of a motherboard in my life!

1A1 doesn’t even completely fix it for me. It happens much less but occasionally still will. Is it completely fixed for you on 1A1?

I still have to reboot my computer sometimes 2 times to have it properly on PCIE 5.
but now i have lot of artefacts on the screen when it doesn't boot properly, just hoping it wont damage the gpu in the long run..
why can't MSI adress this issue..

After switching to the ASUS TUF X870, I’ve finally been free from the PCIe issue that plagued me for five months. If you're still dealing with this on an MSI board, I strongly recommend moving on. Five months should’ve been more than enough time to fix it. At this point, either they have no intention of fixing it, or they already know it’s a design flaw they can’t do anything about.

It is very frustrating. I don't think it's going to get resolved at this point or they would have. Waiting for a decent deal on a gigabyte so I can move on from this and never get an MSI anything again.

Hi guys, did you check Bios Advanced/ PCIe Subsystem section, swap Gen5 instead Auto
I'am faceing Gen5 for MP700 Pro M2, and Gen4 coz 4070Super owner, it worked for me, gpu PCIe x16 is running 4.0 continuously

How long has this change been in place? This problem is often intermittent, so it really would require a month or more to be sure it's actually the change that did anything or not.
Keep us updated, I'll try for now since there's nothing to lose I guess - I have Gen4 M.2 / 4090 but Gen 5 should work as it's backwards compatible.

Wait.... are you saying you started getting the stuttering desktop in the latest BIOS? how long have you had the board?
It's been happening on every BIOS since launch, the only BIOS version that rarely happens is A1A.
Anyway, I made the change on my BIOS to see if those suggestions help, but pretty sure they've been tried before and it's only a matter of time before the problem happens again.
But good luck.

But wait, no stuttering for me with latest Bios, I own this mobo from early debut preorder, day1 after launch & I was through testing all released Bios version so far.
I'am only saying I found crap version A45 & new adds, which don't fit with my OC profile.
Maybe is working Expo & defaults setup idk. :(
Be aware, is not so stable, still imature Agesa, already rolled back 1.2.0.3a PatchA
All goes fine with YC 10cycles 3h which passed well, but Karhu failed after with same Profile twice,1.2.0.3c is not for my OC stuff.(n)
I'll rock with 1.2.0.3a patchA, maybe 1.2.0.3d :-)
