Hello, I recently bought an MSI X870 Tomahawk Wifi motherboard paired with a 7950X3D CPU and

CORSAIR Dominator Titanium RGB (CMP64GX5M2B6000Z30) ( 2 sticks of a total of 64GB memory)

According to the support page on the MSI, the memory is supported, when I enable EXPO profile or when I go to Advanced and manually set it to 6000mhz, it works once, it trains the memory but once I close the PC and turn it back on, it gets stuck on post code 10 and untill I CMOS the motherboard it won't work anymore, any tips please? according to the page, it is compatible with the motherboard and it also works up to 6000mhz.....currently it works at 4800mhz

Edit, i currently run the latest BIOS update 7E51v1A2

Now, the question is, it this kit EXPO-only, or does it have an XMP you could also use? Because sometims the EXPO profile might make problems where the XMP (A-XMP on AMD) might not, also see here. But in general, lots of people have problems making their RAM work at EXPO/XMP on MSI AM5 800-series boards, i think a lot of it is down to the immature state of BIOS development on those boards.

What you can try, enable EXPO, but then before pressing F10 to save and exit, also set DRAM Frequency to DDR5-5600 for a test, just to see if a slightly lower speed makes it work.

doubt I can post the retail link so here you go, also, this also happens when i turn off the PSU from the button, i have to CMOS everytime, is it the RAM or the mobo?

Well yeah, from the specs, it should have an XMP profile. So see if it works better on A-XMP than on EXPO.

his also happens when i turn off the PSU from the button, i have to CMOS everytime, is it the RAM or the mobo?

You mean getting stuck on Code 10? I'd say it's the board, more precisely, the BIOS. Just look at other threads for the X870 boards, tons of similar problems. It's best to open a ticket with MSI, the more people they get complaining about it, the sooner they probably fix it in a new BIOS version.

this also happens when i turn off the PSU from the button,(simulating a power surge) i have to CMOS everytime, is it the RAM or the mobo?

Wasnt A-XMP only if I have an intel CPU? I have 7950X3d CPU

The first question i have tried to answer above already.

XMP is originally meant for Intel, but on AMD you can still use it, as A-XMP. You can even use AMD's EXPO on Intel, as iEXPO.
Thank you, I didnt know that, I appreciate the time and effort to reply to a newbie like me(last build was LGS775 so you can imagine how.many things changed)

I also created a ticket at MSI hope its not RMA

If you read other threads about issues with this board here, they are not that uncommon. And then the problem could be that a a replacement board can show the same issues.

What's your PSU model by the way?

Corsair HX1000i Fully Modular, Extremely Quiet ATX Power Supply - ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 Compatible - Corsair iCUE Software Compatible - 80 Plus Platinum Efficiency - Black

Received email from msi ticket to enable A-XMP, i will test to see if i still get the code, I tested the sticks separately with on on channel a and b and got no issues separately but together got the 10 code, enabled xmp, nothing so far, we will see if the issue persists (turned off PC for a few hours and will check again)

Yep, seems to be a bit of a common theme here for some reason, the A-XMP profile works better than the EXPO sometimes. It's up to MSI to get on top of that.

tried EXPO, tried A-XMP, tried "memory try it ", tried with separate sticks no problem but together they still get post code 10, I actually sent an email to MSI*currently waiting for memtest86 to finish so I can prove them that the issue is not the sticks but the motherboard and asking for RMA(i cannot return it) though I also sent message to retailer and see what they think(since the item no longer is part of their offer), whatever that means when processing RMA, so far super dissapointed with MSI, will pay a bit more for X870E Asrock Taichi instead

I payed 300 euro on it, I expected it to work since first time, my mate has Gigabyte and no issues, straight boot, if you post on your compatibility list that the sticks are compatible then god damn it, make sure it works

New BIOS version is out 7E51v1A24, have you tried that, i'm interested to know if this fixed your issue?
Just saw your post and decided to give it a shot, the PC turned on and showed a new error which I never saw before, called 0D or 0B? the letter was weird, then I pressed reboot and worked? (currently using back the EXPO profile) if EXPO will still be buggy, will try A-XMP and if that is also buggy will try memory try it and if that issue persists, will throw the motherboard into trash personally and buy the taichi and lesson to never buy msi again(I thought a high end motherboard will have priority updates and not be buggy as f**)

Thanks for replying, I only ask because I have purchased the same ram and am about to build it once the motherboard arrives. Im a bit concerned that I should have purchased a different combo even through the ram is on the QVL. Anyway, ill update with my results once i've got it built.

Currently trying the EXPO, if the issue persists, will try A-XMP and if the issue persists again, will try memory try it, its not hardware the issue its software and most companies nowadays( I also work at a multibillion dollar company) they all release half baked products and patch it later......... they don't make em like they used to bob
