Had Win 11 Pro running on the previous BIOS, 7E59v2AA3 2026-03-20. Upgraded to the latest BIOS 7E59v2AC0 2026-05-28, everything went well, PC booted into Windows, I made necessary backups of my files and decided to re-install Windows.

Steps:
1. Dowloaded Win 11 media creation tool from Microsoft's website.
2. Inserted a USB stick, followed a couple of prompts and created a bootable Win 11 USB disk.
3. Rebooted my machine, pressed F11, selected USB drive as a boot drive and got to Win 11 re-installation prompts.
4. Deleted necessary partions, created a new partion to install Win 11 on etc., clicked the "Install" button and walked away for a few minutes.
(Steps above are no brainer, we've all done it 1000 times)

THIS is where things got interesting. Came back expecting to see a Windows screen, but instead I was in the main BIOS screen. WHAT? Never seen this before. Pressed Ctrl+Alt+Delete to restart hoping to see either Win 11 installation screen OR after-installation Win 11 screen, but instead PC booted BACK into BIOS again. Rebooted PC again, pressed F11 and selected my USB drive as a boot drive again, hit Enter, screen flickered for a second and I am back to the same "select the boot drive screen"! Basically nothing is happening when trying to select a bootable USB drive with Win 11. Tried this a few more times, selecting a USB boot drive OR the main drive where the Windows installation was supposed to take place did absolutely nothing.

At this point I re-created Win 11 using media creation tool. Tried to boot from USB drive again, but nothing happens! WHAT?

I then created bootable USB drive with Win 11 using Rufus and the latest Win 11 ISO file downloaded from MS website. Trying to boot from THIS USB drive gave me an error: "Windows bootmgr encountered a security validatoion or internal error". I googled this and it turns out that there is an issue with Secure Boot!

I tried:
1. Disabling Secure Boot in BIOS, saving changes (F10) and re-booting, however the Secure Boot would JUST STAY ENABLED upon reboot.
2. Secure Boot -> Key Management -> Restore Factory Keys (per youtube video suggestion).
3. Loading optimized defaults.
4. Clearing CMOS.

NO MATTER what I did it just wouldn't load from a bootable USB drive with Win 11.

I FINALLY rolled back BIOS to 7E59v2AA3 2026-03-20 and rebooted. I instantly saw my Win 11 installation CONTINUE from the first attempt to re-install. I then re-started, pressed F11, selected USB drive as a boot drive and got to the Windows 11 installation screen without ANY issue. I've also tried enabling/disabling Secure Boot which ALSO worked as expected unlike staying ENABLED. Something is COMPLETELY off with the lastest BIOS release!

Just thinking out loud. Could this be an issue with the underlying certificates? Rufus now provides a feature to either use the old or the new certificates.

I am not sure...but it failed to launch Win 11 installation using USB bootdrive created by media creation tool from Microsoft's website as well as Rufus. Everything started working once I rolled back to previous BIOS version 7E59v2AA3 2026-03-20. Also, Secure Boot would always stay ENABLED even if I disabled it and saved changes in latest BIOS 7E59v2AC0 2026-05-28. Previos version of BIOS does not have this problem and disabling Secure Boot would actually make it stay disabled. I have no idea how MSI approved this lastest BIOS release.

I think I had an issue using the Installation media on a laptop that I had just updated the certificates on. Maybe the Installation media is using an older version of the certificates.

Official Response from MSI:

Hello.

For this, please try to do the following steps in order.

Update the BIOS.

Shut down system and remove every drive except for the SSD that you will install windows into.

Clear CMOS

Install windows using flashdrive using the steps you've done previously.

Watch to see if the install process would continue and install windows. If you are still experiencing issues, please try to take a short video and send to us. We will be able to send to our team to see if they are able to recreate the issue that you are having.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Thank you.

For what it worth.... I've been running that exact bios on windows 11 pro with no problems. I just upgraded my existing bios, rebooted, re-entered my overclock settings and its been running great. (Of course I wasnt trying to re-install windows either) I wonder what would happen if you disabled the selection in BIOS of trying to load MSI drivers on first boot??

I upgraded back to the latest BIOS 7E59v2AC0 2026-05-28, but installed Win 11 on the previous BIOS 7E59v2AA3 2026-03-20. PC has been running great as well. I hope this lasts. Enabling/Disabling Secure Boot works as expected. I did not try to clean-install Win 11 on the latest BIOS again, since that's what got me stuck in the first place. I did disable MSI Driver Utility, i.e. MSI Driver Utility Installer -> [Enabled] -> [Disabled], but that basically prevents MSI app from launching after the you've booted into Windows.

Did you use old version of Rufus?
Have you tried the latest Rufus version 4.14?
Or maybe update the efi driver? https://efi.akeo.ie/

BIOS 7E59v2AC0 2026-05-28 - This version is quite good and is stable and not beta. Also, my computer starts up much faster on a cold start.
Just upgraded this morning, looks good so far!

** EDIT**
At the end of the day, I see no problems with this bios at all. I agree, it does seem a little faster on cold boot.
