MSI Center Live Update shows Realtek HD Universal Drivers as Current ver= 6.0.9235.1 and Online ver= 6.4.0.2422
After Scan and Update and Success message, these remain the same. Device Manager shows 6.4.0.2422 for Realtek USB Audio, no other Realtek device with driver 6.0.9235.1
Uninstall device and drivers then reinstall using 6.4.0.2422 makes no difference in what Live Update is reporting.
Is my Realtek Audio up to date or not? And if not, what can I do to get rid of the old driver?
Thanks

I found that the MSI Center scan does not, in some cases, report the correct version of installed drivers. I found this was the case with MSI Center several versions back, likely over a year ago. In my case, the discrepancy was a version mismatch in the Intel Network driver. The issue was reported to MSI in March 2025.

Short JBAT, unplug the power cord for three to five minutes and reset CMOS battery.
I would also uninstall current MSI Center, restart the system and reinstall the latest version.

I fail to see how resetting the BIOS has anything to do with the version of drivers loaded in Windows. The version numbers of drivers are certainly not stored in BIOS memory. Also, why are versions of some drivers updated in MSI Center, while others are not? If driver versions are updated in Device Manager, where are the version numbers MSI Center reports coming from?

Hate to say it but MSI Center is basically garbage. Just use the support site to update your drivers. If you want the newest ones get them from the device manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, etc.)
