As Alan said, it's vital not to use an outdated installation media for Windows, otherwise a lot of driver installations will fail, because they check for a current Windows version. Then when Windows is installed, use the drivers from the MSI website or from Intel directly, whichever are newer. What you need to do is, download the
latest Win10 Media Creation Tool, prepare a USB drive with it, and then boot from it by pressing F11 for the boot menu after turning on the PC and selecting the USB drive there.
I explained the procedure a bit here:

If you use a Windows 10 version that's too old (for example if you bought it a while back and use the original installation USB drive/stick), then it probably doesn't have the proper drivers for the LAN chip, and the drivers from MSI won't install either, because they rely on a supported/current Win10 version being installed. And actually, instead of Windows 10, for 12th gen CPUs it's best to use Windows 11, get the
latest Media Creation Tool from this link. You can use the same license key as for Win10, Win11 will accept it just the same.
Install the chipset drivers first, these tell Windows the right names and properties of all the Intel stuff onboard. They are a must for proper energy saving modes and so on. Then Management Engine and Serial I/O (from MSI support site) to get rid of unknown devices in the device manager, audio drivers if you use onboard audio.
Then LAN from here,

Then we got the WLAN/BT:
Intel Wi-Fi/WLAN:

Intel Bluetooth:

Finally, let Windows Update search for other drivers/updates you need.
And actually, first thing before all that: I would update to the newest BIOS from the support site. The early Z690 BIOS was buggy. Still not perfect, but they improved a bunch of things in new versions.
Update how-to:
1) Get the latest BIOS.
2) Extract the file and you will get a text file and the BIOS file. Put the BIOS file into the root folder of a USB stick/drive.
3) Enter the BIOS by pressing DEL during boot, go to "M-FLASH" in the BIOS.
4) Once M-Flash (the updater) is loaded, it will show a list of your drives. Select the USB stick and select the previously extracted BIOS file on there.
5) It will ask for confirmation and then update the BIOS. It's fully automatic from there, takes about two minutes.
