MEG ACE Z790 - onboard video doesn't work

went from mini display port to display port on monitor and no IDG picture. Tried the thunderbolt to thunderbolt on monitor and no IDG picture. install is an AMD 7900xtx, the BIOS is set to enable IDG and Multimonitor. The CPU is an i9-13900k, so there should be IDG but there isn't. I've downloaded the *.pdf manual since there wasn't one in the box and tried the daisy chain with no solution.
I have 3 monitors running off the 7900xtx and would like to run 2 more monitor off the IDG, seems like one monitor per mini display port should work but it doesn't.
Please help, thank you!

I've installed the driver

Right now the Asus monitor and 2 of the MSI monitors are connected to the 7900xtx. The other 2 MSI monitors are connected to the motherboard via Display Port to Mini Display Port but with no picture.

just connected one MSI display to one of the thunderbolt connectors above the mini display port inputs. i connected the other monitor to the thunderbolt on the GPU, both monitors have thunderbolt ports and there is still no video. Ive tried this configuration before but got nothing. this is where I ask, what am i doing wrong? And thank you for your help!

See the last line of the first picture i posted. You need to connect a DP-to-mini-DP cable from DP output of the GPU to a rear I/O mini DP input. Then Thunderbolt pass-through should work over those two Type-C ports (number 5) you're trying to use. Meaning, wether they output DP signals or not depends if you feed a DP signal in there from your GPU.

Now, the Type-C port number 9 from the bottom picture, this will work just from the iGPU, no need for pass-through on that one. So that should work right now already. But it's the only port connected to the iGPU.

the motherboard comes with 2 display port to mini dp cables, but that means i lose a dp port on my GPU everytime i use one just to what... have a monitor connected to the type-c thunderbolt off the motherboard??? This design really seems stupid. As I stated at the start, " I've downloaded the *.pdf manual..." and read thru it about 4 times now. To save you from typing it again about reading the last line of the pic, ive done that. (jsut to clarify, im not mad at you either, im very thankful youre trying to help but this is really going nowhere.)
None of this makes sense to me as to why my CPU has integrated graphics but requires a display port off the gpu. I'm ready to pull this motherboard out and send it back to MSI as this is a poor poor design that doesn't make sense at all. Looking at the manual and specs, it illustrates only one monitor in a daisy chain of peripherals. I've had enough of this. I've ordered a thunderbolt to dual hdmi port adapter and if that doesn't work then im sending this mobo back as i obviously can't use the full potential of my CPU. again, what a waste

Port #9 on the bottom picture will output DP over Type-C from the integrated graphics of the CPU, without requiring anything else. If you want to run two monitors off the rear I/O without requiring anything else, this is the wrong board model indeed. But the ACE and even more the GODLIKE have always been like that. My old Z390 ACE had exactly zero graphics outputs, the iGPU wasn't even powered on that board.

If you want two graphics output ports from the iGPU, you have to be really careful what model you select.
Z790 GODLIKE - No. iGPU not powered, no graphics outputs from iGPU. And of course way too overpriced.
Z790 ACE - No. Just one graphics output from iGPU (1x Type-C DP).
Z790 Carbon WIFI - No. Just one graphics output from iGPU (1x HDMI 2.1).
Z790 Edge WIFI - Yes. 1x HDMI 2.1 (iGPU), 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (iGPU). From here on downwards, all board models are like this.

Will update, already ordered an MSI Pro Z790-A WiFi board. After this, I'm going to stick back with the basics since they had never let me down before.
(calling Newegg now to inquire about returning the ACE board. If they say "no" then i'll post it for sale in my Discord along with other parts.)

Hey everyone, this search came up for me when I could not figure out why my HDMI monitor was working with onboard graphics but my displayport would not. You need to go into Intel Graphics Command Center and click on display. Then, you can see the monitor you want to enable, left or right-click on it, and select enable. I hope this helps someone out!

@jpay018 I think you are talking about some other MSI motherboard model. I checked with MEG ACE Z790 and it only has one type C port that has iGPU. I therefore have decided to use a Type-C to DisplayPort connector and I could use a wireless keyboard mouse with both PCs easily. Because I have read at many places that using a KVM switch for displays could fry motherboard or monitor.
