Hi, I just assembled my new pc last week. I've been observing that S360 has been disconnecting randomly one time or two per day, after that CPU thermal reading on the lcd screen of the aio stuck at a fixed number.
When the it happens. I can hear the "usb device disconnects and reconnects" sound clearly from my pc. Another thing happens is that the CPU readings in the "hardware monitoring" tab of MSI center disappears (when it works normally, the tab has all the cpu readings). However, when I check the usb devices, the aio is listed in the device manager. If I uninstall MSI Center, shutdown, clear CMOS, then boot up, install MSI center. the aio works as expected again...

I've checked the both usb cable and sata power cables for the aio seems all good to me.
The issue is quite annoying, because of lost of cpu reading the aio fans are not adjust speed automatically.

Is the AIO defective or it's just a software issue?

I have the exact same problem !!!
Tried every usb port.
Tried to connect it to a NZXT hub, and it is the only USB that get disconnect.

Any idea of what is going on ?

I figured it's related to power management setting of the usb port controllers. I un-ticked the options of these controllers which the aio is attached to.
Now the aio works almost perfectly. I still see occasionally the aio lcd went to the "loading" screen once or twice a week but it's acceptable. I can fix easily by opening coreliquid feature inside msi center and click on apply.

And I suspect the issue has to do with usb power is on when pc is in sleep as well, (might be a firmware issue that aio is not aware of pc being asleep). I disabled "usb standby power at s4/s5" in the bios, hoping it will complete shut off the power supply to the aio, which makes me cannot wake up my pc by moving mouse or press a key.

before you tries above steps, you probably want to do the advanced update in msi center to ensure all firmware is latest. I remember there was a firmware update for s360 last week.

Meanwhile I really hope devs from msi official can take a look at the issue. like I mentioned. aio still occasionally goes to "loading screen". and the aio should be made better aware of the usb power / pc sleep.

Today, the issue occurred again after pc woke up from sleep. I had to terminate msi processes then deleted cache for msi center to make sensor reading work again.. @msi please take a look at this.. Seems like it's software compatibility issue related to windows usb power saving/sleep/fast startup

I just disabled pc fast startup. hope it will resolve the issue.

Yeah same issue !
Contacted support, so far nothing else than re-installing MSI center.
Edit : It looks like it reset more when I use a personnal image/video than when I use the preset ones

Oh boy... I went deep into the rabbit hole for this one.

Like OP, when I heard the "usb device disconnects and reconnects" sound as the aio's lcd screen reset, I assumed it was a power or usb issue. When I searched for similar problems, I found certain Z690/Z790 motherboards had erratic usb performance and to manually update every Intel, Windows, and Asus (I have an Asus motherboard) driver and not to rely on Window's automatic updates or Asus Armoury Crate. This did not help.

Next I looked into usb power distribution with advice to disable Window's ability to cut off power to usbs when idle (as OP mentioned), disable usb legacy mode/xhci in bios, delete usb drivers to have Windows reinstall, etc. This also did not help.

Finally, I found a bunch of threads talking about problems with Corsair peripherals and iCue. Apparently, certain Corsair products also experienced sporadic usb outages. The prevailing solution was to connect to an internal usb hub instead of the motherboard's usb header. I thought this was an effective if "brute-force" solution since the internal hub was independently powered through sata and considered trying it out. While reading through these threads, someone mentioned that problems with iCue could stem from conflict with too many other system monitors. It seems system monitors don't play well together.

I thought turning off/updating system monitors was probably easier than buying an usb hub so I gave it a try. I was running MSI Center, L Connect 3, Core Temp, and MSI Afterburner. They were all up to date except for Afterburner so I updated that (and may have broken it but that's neither here nor there). Again, no help. So, I turned off L Connect 3... and that fixed it.

Now, my only problem is figuring out how to control my case fans or narrowing down exactly what L Connect 3 is doing to reset the aio's screen (or maybe Lian Li will fix the issue in an update). Currently, my temps are fine with the fans just spinning on silent, so not a top priority. I guess I traded an annoyance for a smaller annoyance.

TL;dr: System monitors may not play well together, so your problem may be software related and have nothing to do with bios, system, or usb.

I do have L Connect 3 on :( which controls all my case fans. will Lianli controller remember all my setting if I close L connect3?

I don't think the controller will remember and/or execute fan settings. After I exited L Connect 3, I fired up Cyberpunk to observe GPU and CPU temps. One of my infinity fans has this slight wobble that goes away once the fans get up to speed (usually a few minutes after I power on my system). Without L Connect 3 on, the wobble never went away (I kept the system on all night).

I'm currently reading up on L Connect 3 to see if there are any convenient fixes. I will post if I find anything.

I just did a quick test on L-Connect 3, seems like the configured setting only kicks in after L-Connect 3 starts.
I set all Lian Li controlled fans "MB RPM Sync" on then check off auto start, Have FanControl from Rem0o set the MB fan header to 80%, completely shutdown my PC. after restart the speeds are not right. Only after I start L-Connect 3, all fans are synced to the MB fan header speed.
Was thinking about ditching L-Connect 3 and letting FanControl do the fan curve work.

Thank you for the possibility. I ordered another unit to do some testing and answer the following question: " Is my first unit defective"
I am also running L connect 3 and msi center (only mag coreliquid connected) at the same time.

No problem, my dude. I am currently discovering the joys of conflicting software. Did you know, you can't run MSI Center's "game mode" and MSI Afterburner at the same time? They're both made by MSI! Not bashing MSI (I've bought their Gaming series GPUs since GTX 980 and I currently run both their coreliquid and RTX 4090 Gaming x Trio), just pointing out everything I thought was a hardware issue turned out to be a software/firmware issue.

Ok so after some more testing with the new unit, the hypothesis of ianus312b902b0 seems to be the solution.
With both unit, having L-connect and Msi center active made the screen of the AIO crash.
Without L-connect active, screen did not crash over 8hours+ of gaming/netflix.
Without MSI center but with L-connect, screen did crash.

So both cannot be active at the same time... But I found that launching L-connect once after start, then closing it (By exiting the soft), allow to keep the fan speed settings and the lightning while not crashing the AIO.

For me, seems like enabling "MB RPM Sync" in L connect 3, I haven't seem aio issue anymore even when L-connect is on. Now I am just using FanControl to control all Lian Li Case Fans

Ok, I've been messing around with my fan settings and discovered something interesting. I didn't like the look of my GPU temps while idling so decided to disable MSI zero frozr from MSI center (I can't hear the fans on my MSI graphics card anyway). I then switched my case fan profile in L Connect 3 to quiet (silent?) and this seemed to fix the AIO screen issue. I also changed the AIO display to only show CPU temp, radiator fan RPM, and FPS. Previously, I had the screen show CPU temp, CPU frequency, pump fan RPM, radiator fan RPM, and water block fan RPM. So, both MSI Center and L Connect 3 running and the AIO display stayed on overnight, though I'm not sure which one of these changes (or some combination) is the one that did the trick.

*Edit: Nope, didn't work. Problem just occurred again. Maybe something happens when the system resets...

tbh seems like enabling "MB RPM Sync" in L connect 3 fixed the issue for me (I still have LConnect 3 on). I haven't seem any issue since then (3 weeks I guess). FanControl is better than LConnect3 anyway.
