I have a Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600MHz CL16-16-16-36 1.35V 32GB (2x16GB) kit.
I got this motherboard along with a 5800X processor yesterday. The pc won't post if I use the memory higher than 3200 mhz.

Is this going to be fixed at some point or should I just return the motherboard while I can?
I say this very bluntly because lots of people have been having this problem and apparently someone else with the same issue got a ticket response from msi saying 'sorry the new cpu's are only guaranteed to work up to 3200mhz" when we all know that every other brand of motherboards has been having no issues of running compatible memory at their advertised XMP speed. Every review of the new cpu's has been running at least 3600mhz ram. Hell, the last news piece on the msi website brags how they got their memory running at 4200mhz with the new cpus: https://www.msi.com/news/detail/26d2ac2a2d21cce1fdc682bda01ab066

Heey how are you? i wanna ask you a question about my ram Crucial ballistix ( BL16G36C16U4B ) . ive bought a single stick ram ( the one ive mentioned) and i wanna ask you if i but the EXACT SAME one model , so im gonna have these two single stick rams ( AND NOT A FACTORY KIT ) will i be able to dual channel them on ur mobo?? Thanks a loot!!
Yes.

Same here, was wondering if there has been any resolution. MSI Meg Unify x570, Corsair 32 gb 3600mhz, and computer won't post if xmp enabled or set to anything over 3200mhz. BIOS is A7, wondering if I should update or not?
Thanks!

Did you tried to install the latest bios even beta version? For me it worked so far and right now I am waiting for the stable version

Hello, I too recently built my first PC (Ryzen 5900X and Gskill 3600 RAM), when it failed to POST at XMP, I thought the RAM was faulty and got a replacement, but to no difference.
Is 3600 working with the beta bios you mentioned?
Can you please share the exact version?

I have the same problem and what I did to fix it was basically putting the rams in the A2 B2 rather than A1 B1 that are the first slots of each block

Finally it seems they sort out all the issues now i can post to 3800 and fclk 1900 with good timings with no issues. They activate the option to at advanced cpu configuration curve optimazer and it shows all the cores. I did to a little oc to that and I've set negative all cores 15 on my best cores and others on 25. To tests I've done with better obviously result and with no crashes. I don't know how it will perform on prime i don't won't to fry my cpu because now with pbo i get almost 80c on cinebench (61 on stock settings). anyway

Hello everyone, i got the same issue with my build :
- Ryzen 5 3600
- MSI B550 Tomahawk
- G.Skill TridentZ Neo 16GB (2x8GB) 3600Mhz CL16-16-16-36 / F4-3600C16D-16GTZN
- Seasonic Focus GX 550
My PC got randomly restart at idle / low load with any ram speed above 3200Mhz, but never restart at high load such at benchmark or gaming
The max ram speed i can get is to use memory try it at 3200Mhz CL14-14-14-36 to that my system not randomly restart again
I have tried many stable BIOS version from VA2 until VA5 and still got the same exact problem with any above 3200Mhz

Any idea or solution?
*sorry for bad grammar

I would say start a new thread but a 3600 isnt going to go much above 3200mhz anyway.

I'd try one stick at a time to see whether XMP is stable. Manual tells you which RAM slot to use.

If one stick has no problems running at advertised speed but the other one has... it could be a bad RAM module.
If both sticks run w/o problems by themselves, try bumping your RAM voltage up from 1.35 to 1.40 or 1.45 and see if this helps.

As a last resort you could try those settings that DramCalculator gives you (Safe or Fast). HERE's a bit dated post how and what. There are many videos about the program out there.
