Hi all
I’ve searched Google and YouTube and can’t seem to find anyone who’s got a detailed guide to OC this combination. I can just hit auto on everything and let the voltages (and heat) soar but I’d prefer to have a more tuned and focused setup.
Usually MSI does a YouTube guide with the latest X900k CPU but there isn’t much on the 11900k, especially with the MSI mother boards

My system is
MEG Z590 Ace
11900k
32gig Crucial Ballistix Max @ 4000
RTX 3090 Gaming X Trio
Corsair 1000w platinum
Corsair H150i Pro RGB XT

Thanks in advance for any help

with newer CPU's they are already nearly at the Ragged edge of what they can do out the box of there frequancy that is attainable. at most there may be 100Mhz there and to even get that you would have to up the voltage alot meaning alot more heat to get it stable.

the reason for no video is the above as there already nearly Maxed out out the box so there is absolutely no point anymore as there is nothing to increase unless you want to basically turn your CPU into a space heater.

11900K no need OC ,.,.when works adaptive BOOST clock all run on MAX
and all core OC --extreme voltage "5ghz -on limit 1.52V" --absurd

use "stock" setup - performance is identical ;)

edit ,..,you need more ??
11900K
  • Processor Base Frequency 3.50 GHz
  • Max Turbo Frequency 5.30 GHz
  • Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost Frequency 5.30 GHz

you have to keep in mind "no limit" + this cpu - 300W or more !!
and such a load you will only manage in the benchmark ,.,.in games or your usage --is all for this cpu LOW USAGE ! :D

Like the others said, it's useless with your CPU. It's slightly above the limit already, at stock!

Also, your DDR4-4000 is losing performance, due to the divider (Gear2 mode) introduced with Rocket Lake above DDR4-3600.
It's faster if you set it to DDR4-3600, because then you can run it in Gear1 mode. Anything above, and the memory controller will run at half the frequency, losing a lot of performance. Same as on AMD.

For all the explanations (OC and RAM) see here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/11900f-memory-overclocking.364100/#post-2065943
And the threads i link to there.

I have also been looking all over Reddit and YouTube for answers, when I leave my settings on AUTO with Intel Adaptive Boost my vcore hits 1.6v which I'm not impressed with - I have the same setup as the OP.
