MEG Z690I UNIFY - connecting three monitors via a Thunderbolt 4 dock

Hello,

I'm planning my next build/setup and I'm trying to figure out how to do something I want (and if it's even possible at all).

Let me describe my scenario/use-case first:
I'm going to use the MEG Z690I UNIFY motherboard with a discrete/dedicated GPU (RTX3090, connected via PCI-E).
I have three monitors I want to connect to the system:
- 2x LG UltraFine 32UL950-W (these are 4K@60Hz monitors with Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 3 daisy chain support)
- 1x Samsung LC49G97T (this is a 5120x1400@240Hz HDR 10-bit monitor with DisplayPort 1.4)
I want all three monitors to be connected through a Thunderbolt 4 hub/dock (something like Caldigit Thunderbolt 4 Element Hub), which I want to be connected to the Thunderbolt 4 port on the motherboard.

Now to the concerns/questions I have:
- My plan was to connect the dock to the workstation; connect one of the LG displays via Thunderbolt to the dock, and daisy-chain the second LG display; connect the Samsung display using the Thunderbolt -> DisplayPort adapter to another Thunderbolt port in the dock (and DisplayPort into the Samsung display). Is this kind of setup even supposed to work (forgetting about the MSI/what the dock is connected to part for a sec)?
- My understanding is that to display the video rendered on a discrete GPU on a screen connected via Thunderbolt I need to connect GPU's DisplayPort OUT to Motherboard's mini-DisplayPort IN. But how is this going to work with three displays connected on the Thunderbolt side? Or do I need to connect the GPU to both mini-DisplayPort INs for each screen (and what about the third screen)? My thinking about using both ports: theoretically, two DisplayPort 1.4 IN ports can carry the signal for all three displays in question (with MST/DSC)... but will the MB/chipset handle it correctly?

Please do not suggest connecting screens directly to the GPU - that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, reasons are unimportant for this question though.

Appreciate your help!

Did you find an answer?

I have a z490i Unify, and only one of two monitors work when connected to a tbt 4 dock. From looking around here, the chances of what we want working are slim.
