I have just acquired a Z790 ace motherboard, however I want to plug everything in correctly.

Concerning the PD_PWR1 socket, which power cable must be connected to this one? PCIe?
I don't have another 6 pin cable coming out of my power supply.

It seems to be used for the 60w power supply of the front USB-C ports.

Thx by advance :D

Yes, on the Z790 ACE, the two Thunderbold USB-C ports on the rear can charge with 15W, and the front USB-C can even charge with up to 60W if you connect a PCIe power cable to the board:

There is no advantage connecting 6-pin PCIe power there if you don't plan on charging your phone/tablet/notebook over front USB-C on your PC.

Thanks,

So I have to find a 6-pin PCI cable to add to my power supply (Modular)

I just wanted to be sure that a PCI-E cable from the power supply would suffice or if it was another type of cable that I hadn't heard of or seen ;)

I didn't specifically plan to plug in a device requiring 60W, but who knows what the future holds :)

my front port charges 60W but no data whatsoever unless the cable is rotated. Go figure... and it doesn't work with all devices.
My Fold 3 only charges but no data....
