In case of problems with updating firmware for the Bluebird / LCD modules on the Mega 651 and 180, you can find the original factory firmwares here

Please only use these if you need to. If a serious error has occured, there is no guarantee that this will fix it.

MEGA 180 -? ? ?Download "MEGA 180 Firmware 0C.zip"

In order to flash this firmware into your units please follow the following procedure -

1.Boot to pure DOS (using a bootable CD which can be made in Nero e.t.c)
2.Type "i2cdown -b:3 -d:0xd0 -a:0xa4 -target:rom XXXXX.bin" - Then press enter.? (Where XXXXX.bin is your updated firmware file)

3. Flash

4. Pull out the power plug. Restart.

MEGA 651? ? ?- Download "BlueBirdV63.zip"

the procedure remains the same as before: you'll need either a bootable floppy, USB stick or CD.
extract the ZIP to the floppy, usb stick or CD and boot into DOS. run the flash.bat program. when completed, you MUST power off your mega 651 and UNPLUG the power cord from the unit for a few seconds, then reconnect and power back on.

no-one has ever needed it! i'm making a big guess to say that it is  p r o b a b l y  the same as the mega 180, as they basically use the same front panel LCD display, but please don't take my word for it

Hi, I have a MEGA 865 with a dead LCD.  In the past I was able to get it to work again by unplugging both the power cord AND the LCD connector overnight.  It would then work for a few days.

This past weekend I updated the LCD firmware using the I2CDOWN procedure for the MEGA 181.  Now it does not work at all.  I guess the 181 firmware is not compatible with the 865.

Can anyone tell me how to get the firmware for the 865?  Or how to contact MSI Support?  I can't find their tech support contact information.  The web site says to contact the reseller and I'm sure they are not going to know what to do.

Thanks for any info.

Worked beautifully for me too. Am a very proud owner of a fully functional Mega 180. I'm using mine as a Media PC.

BTW does anyone know of a good remote for the MEGA 180 that can also control a mouse?
