Memory Question for MS 7A40 Motherboard

I'm trying to upgrade my memory from 16GB to 32GB. Most of the part numbers I'm seeing on the site are either not available or very expensive. On the support page it has several tabs for memory with titles like: Memory by RX-5X00G/GE or Memory by RX-5xxx. I'm currently running an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor so would this be RX-5X--G/GE or RX-3X00 or RX-3X00G? Very confusing. Also if I choose RX-3X00G it says Memory compatibility support depended on the CPU memory controller. Not sure how to even check this.

I've purchased 2 different memory modules not specifically listed in the compatibility chart so I'm sure I'm missing something here.

Thanks for any help!

Which motherboard are you talking about?
This one: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450I-GAMING-PLUS-AC/Specification
If that's the case and your CPU is Ryzen 5 3600, any 2 x 16GB DDR4-3200 factory matched kit should work just fine.

I've purchased 2 different memory modules

That's a very bad idea and not how the memory upgrade should be done.
As I said before, you need to replace your 16GB kit or module with a 2 x 16GB factory matched kit.
Otherwise you're asking for troubles!
good luck

Sorry I probably mispoke. I did buy 2 actual memory kits, not mismatched dims. I purchased these and neither one worked with this motherboard.

Both of them should work, but you need to clear the CMOS before using them.
If you don't know how, first try with a single module, boot up, load the BIOS default settings, shut down and insert the 2nd module.
