Hello,

I’m having an issue with my MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 monitor, which I have had for only around 2 weeks.
The monitor sometimes does not power on at all after being disconnected from wall power. When I turn the wall power back on, there is:
  • no power LED indication
  • no MSI logo
  • no OSD
  • no response from the power button
  • no visible sign that the monitor has power
The only way to make it start is to fully disconnect it from power, hold the monitor power button for around 30–40 seconds, then reconnect power. After that, the monitor starts normally.

This has happened more than once. The most recent case was after I turned off both the laptop and the monitor from the wall plug overnight. In the morning, I first powered on the laptop, and then turned on the wall power for the monitor. The monitor did not start and showed no power indication whatsoever. Holding the power button while plugged in did nothing. After disconnecting wall power, holding the power button for about 40 seconds, and powering it again, the monitor started.

I am using the original HDMI cable supplied with the monitor, connected directly to a Dell Precision 5690 laptop. No dock, adapter, KVM, or converter is used.

I have already updated the monitor firmware(FW.018), but the issue was not resolved. I also noticed that Ultra Low Power Mode was enabled in the OSD, and I have now disabled it, as well as the Auto Scan, but since the issue does not happen every time, I cannot yet confirm whether this changes the behavior.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Could this be related to Ultra Low Power Mode, firmware, or does it sound like a hardware/power-board problem?

Thanks.

Thanks for reaching our @plutomate, AI Care sensor is disabled, before this, after flashing with the newest firmware, I reset the OSD. Ultra-low power mode is disabled, Input auto scan as well and HDMI CEC is off. I'm using the original hdmi cable directly plugged into the laptop,

@kehayov.bogda157a02e5 Just made an account to say the exact same thing happened to me. I moved my desk to a different room and during the whole process the monitor was unplugged. Couple hours or three later and the monitor would just not turn on when plugged back, then I Googled and came across your post. Holding the monitor power button to discharge and then plugging it back to the wall worked.

I usually never disconnect it from wall power which is why I probably never came across this issue, but it's probably easily reproducible.

Still, it's a bad issue and it will give a heart attack to more than one, especially if they don't even think about googling the issue.

Thank you!
