MPG B550 will not flash bios

I have read all the posts in here related to my issue as I try to update to the latest BETA on my bios. I have tried numerous USB slots and drives. I have tried M-Flash in bios, I have tried the flash button using the correct slot on the back. Same issue everytime. Its a MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus mobo.

Using M-Flash it reads my USB and will show me various files and folders (I have also tried root on a formatted stick in both FAT32 and NTFS) and it does read the USB fine but the bios file never shows so it can never be selected. I have tried the default name as it says. I have even tried renaming to .bin. .rom etc as others in various places have suggested. Nothing shows that is related to the actual bios flash file. Its as if it ceases to exist the second I put it in to flash mode.

Using the flash button on the back with MSI.ROM or its default filename etc in the correct slow with various USB sticks in Fat32 and NTFS has the red light flash a few times at a steady pace, the USB stick respond as if its going to work then after roughly 5 seconds both just stop and nothing is updated.

Reason for trying all this is of course the TPM as even though it says its enabled, it isn't.

Any help massively appreciated. I can think of nothing else now.

what version of the bios are you trying to flash? Exactly what version?
Are you sure you're flashing the right bios for your board?

Plea's supply a screenshot of your bios like below Just press F12 for the screenshot and save to disk, If you change the file to Jpg it will be less than 1mb in size and can be posted directly to the forums this way you bios file can be confirmed as some boards don't have the standard BIOS on them

Oh and this as well just incase as I have had the same problem from time to time.

Right Click on the Downloaded Bios Zip File, select properties if you see the message this file is blocked by windows tick the box to unblock and click OK.

When in windows File Explorer make sure that you select the View tab and Tick the box Show Hidden Files and File Name Extensions.

Extract the BIOS file from the Downloaded ZIP file Open the folder it was extracted to.

Right click on the BIOS file, select copy and then paste it into a USB drive Formatted to FAT32,

Thanks for the pick and yes you have a Custom BIOS on the board, is it form a Prebuilt PC and if so what model of prebuilt.
Bios for Prebuilt don't get a lot of updates.

There's a way to flash the normal bios but if it goes wrong you will brick your BOARD.. Global Admin @Svet May be able to Assist with that.

Since you have prebuild PC with custom brand, you should stick with their own BIOS updates.

Here is the latest version for it: [flash & use at own risk]

But if you need further assistance with your OEM product,
you should contact your OEM vendor, as the forum do not support OEM products:

Thank you so much guys. TPM is now on. To myself at least there was no info about custom firmware so I just never suspected something so simple. Flashed the above instantly with zero issues and now I am updated. I have to wonder how many other people have the same issue given the amount of identical things I have read. If I see anyone with it I will now mention this and hope it helps them too.

Really appreciate it!

Hi. Have the same problem as @vaughanjackson158902e0 so I think that the print screens are redundant though my board is not from a pre built PC. Why can´t I see the file to flash the BIOS? So many people around the world with the same issue and seems that no one knows the answer.
Need to update because of the TPM 2.0 for windows 11.
Can someone help please? Thank you.

Hi. Would you be kind enough to share how you solve your problem? Ty
He solved it by using the correct BIOS for his board, he was trying to flash the incorrect BIOS. This solution was found after he posted his Screenshot showing what BIOS version was on the actual motherboard. Just because it is not a pre built dos not indicate you have a standard bios on the board. Has popped up before where Excess boards from a Prebuilt company have been sold on Amazon or Ebay and have a non standard BIOS on them.
