MPG K360 pump/fan not running.

Greetings,

I've just about finished a new build, and can't seem to figure out why the K360 isn't spinning up the pump or the CPU fan under the LCD. The radiator fans are turning, but all three report as 0 rpm in the MSI center.

No amount of tinkering with the fan curves in MSI Center does anything to engage the pump/fan. I've turned off fast boot in the BIOS, and even set all of the fan headers to max rpm, with zero change.

I can change the RGB on the radiator fans just fine (though the LCD never remembers any settings I give it and I have to manually change it after every single boot, but that's a separate issue...) but forget about altering any speeds on this thing.

It's currently plugged into the CPU Fan 1 header on the board. There is the separate pump header I can switch to if needed. The connector for the AIO was labeled for the CPU fan, so that's where it went for now.

Updating the BIOS from 1.04 to 1.07 changed nothing. Still no movement on the pump/fan. Next step is to try the pump header and the second CPU fan header to see if anything happens there.

Does anyone have any idea what I may be doing wrong here? It's literally my first shot at water, so I could have easily borked something somewhere.

System thus far:

CPU: i9-10900K
MOBO: EVGA Z590 FTW Wifi
RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z Royal 64 GB
AIO: MSI MPG Coreliquid K360
GPU: EVGA RTX 3090 FTW Ultra Gaming
PSU: Thermaltake PF1 ARGB 1050 Platinum
SSD 1: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB NVMe (Boot)
SSD 2: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB NVMe (Data)
OS: Win 10 Pro 64

System idles at around 90-100c, so it's utterly useless until I can get those pumps/fans running. I appreciate any insight you can provide.

Thanks!

what's the MSI Center version? do you have FW update available in MSI Center Live Update? can you share your coreliquid fw version in system info?

I'll reconnect it all tomorrow after work and check the FW version. MSI Center is V 1.0.27.0. When I attempted to check for new versions via Live Update yesterday, it told me everything was up to date, but I honestly don't recall the FW version number.

Sorry for the delay. Had a wedding and some other family issues come up and didn't have time to tinker with the new machine like I'd hoped.

Plugged it all back in today, did some updates via Windows, etc..

MSI Center is v1.0.31.0
K360 BIOS is 1.07, dated 08/19/2021

I've tried moving the K360's fan connection to every header on the motherboard, without any change. From what I can see, it's purpose isn't to power the VRM/Pump, as it only has two wires. The USB and SATA power connections are working, I can alter the LCD graphics, and the radiator fans spin and the LED's can be changed. I just can't get the VRM fan or the water pump working.

Beginning to think this one is a dud, and needs an RMA.

do you have other system fans that you could test on the motherboard? could it be the motherboard pin header not supplying power?

All of the mobo headers work. I cycled several Noctua fans through them all to be sure. MSI's tech support guys had me do the same on Monday with the fans from the K360 radiator.

I'm at a loss at this point. I'm thinking either MSI Center isn't telling the VRM fan and water pump to turn on, or they're both duds and the whole unit needs to go back. :(
