Im going around in circles trying to find this product. Im building an all MSI gaming pc, my case ( prospect 700r) comes with a vertical bracket for my 4090, but you have to buy the riser cable separately. The MSI one i want is available ( named in title of thread) in the good old US of A, searching and asking i finally tracked it down at the MSI USA store, after signing up and going through the process of ordering i find they only deliver within the US. It seems making them an offer they can’t refuse doesn’t work anymore so is there any man/woman alive that can help me find an MPG PCIe 4.0 x16 GPU riser cable. Failing that has anybody used another suitable brand preferably that does not require an adaption to fit the vertical bracket provided. Thanks, Steven.

Solution
Hi everyone,

Sorry to revive an old thread but we need to clarify the bundled riser cable topic to avoid any future misunderstandings.

PCIe riser cable was only bundled with a very limited number of Prospect 700R units at the product launch due to being unavailable at any purchase location.

Post-launch, riser cable is being offered as an additional accessory which needs to be purchased separately.

Kind regards
MSI UK
Ender
Thanks, Im in London England. I got a reply from MSI Poland saying the bracket i refer to only fits a product sold in the USA. He also stated that any reputable riser companies riser should fit. I must wait for my prospect case to arrive to see if the plate that the connecting end to the bracket is included, but ive watched the few clips showing unboxing and it seems part of the riser.

Same problem, tried the cooler master 4.0 riser was 200m and bunched up at the pcie slot and kept pushing the gpu back, so wouldn't fit, don't know where to find an offical msi mag riser or any alternative.

Thanks for letting me know about the cooler master I’m looking at the fanatecs one as it looks like the same size plate on the GPUs end. The Msi one is only available in USA i was told and they don’t ship outside USA, i tried Msi store USA. So if the one you have was shorter would it be ok?

It’s not letting me attach picture of phanatec riser ( too large) to show you the holes look the same but its very hard to tell unless you have them in your hands. Im getting my case soon its still on pre order for nearly two weeks. How are you getting on with yours?

Received it today, it weren't a hard case to build into just frustrating at times , cable management on the right side needs to be on point or that door will swing open, however when all was said and done, and the case powered up looks amazing and its definitely worth it, runs so quite and cool. If you open the picture in the windows image viewer and click on edit, then resize, click percentage and it should make the file size smaller so you can upload it.

That looks the bollix nice 1. I think I’m going to have problems though Ive gone a bit overboard on the ingredients. I got the godlike mobo and its massive. Im over half way there just waiting for pre ordered stuff like the case from overclockers. Taking a long time for stock to arrive.

The 2nd one is from the original Msi site how to vid on YouTube. The 1st one is from overclockers uk i think its priced £52. The holes look very similar position.

Cheers mate, yeah even without vertical mounting it still looks sick , the case is new and as the actual Riser cable for is only available in the US means less people will look for an alternative, i did ask bard googles AI to help me find a alternative, and find out if the phanteks one fits , although i'm not sure how accurate it's information will be.

The Phanteks PCIe 4.0 GPU extender has a spacing of 7.5mm. This means that it will fit in most cases with a 7.5mm spacing. However, there are some cases that have a 8.5mm spacing, and in those cases, the Phanteks PCIe 4.0 GPU extender will not fit.

The MSI MAG PCIe 4.0 riser cable has a spacing of 8.5mm. This means that the cable will not fit in a case with a 7.5mm spacing. If you are using a case with a 7.5mm spacing, you will need to use a different riser cable.

The MSI MAG PCIe 4.0 riser cable is a high-quality cable that is designed to provide a reliable connection between your graphics card and your motherboard. The cable is made of high-quality materials and is shielded to prevent interference. The cable also comes with a 3-year warranty.

If you are looking for a high-quality riser cable for your MSI MAG PCIe 4.0 graphics card, the MSI MAG PCIe 4.0 riser cable is a great option. The cable is well-made and comes with a 3-year warranty. However, it is important to note that the cable has a spacing of 8.5mm, so it will not fit in all cases.

Here are some PCIe 4.0 riser cables that have a spacing of 8.5mm:

  • CableMod C-Series 3.0/4.0 PCIe 4.0 x16 Riser Cable
  • NZXT Internal USB 3.1 Gen 2 to PCIe 4.0 x16 Riser Cable
  • SilverStone PEX4L-4C
  • Lian Li Strimer Plus PCIe 4.0 Riser Cable
  • Thermaltake PCI-E 4.0 3-Slot Extender Cable
  • AddOn PCIe 4.0 x16 Riser Cable
It is important to note that not all cases will be compatible with a riser cable that has a spacing of 8.5mm. If you are not sure if your case is compatible, you should check the manufacturer's website or contact the manufacturer for support.

then i asked it which one of the above will fit the prospect 700R

The CableMod C-Series 3.0/4.0 PCIe 4.0 x16 Riser Cable, the NZXT Internal USB 3.1 Gen 2 to PCIe 4.0 x16 Riser Cable, and the SilverStone PEX4L-4C will all fit the Prospect 700R. The Lian Li Strimer Plus PCIe 4.0 Riser Cable and the Thermaltake PCI-E 4.0 3-Slot Extender Cable will not fit the Prospect 700R because they have a spacing of 7.5mm, while the Prospect 700R has a spacing of 8.5mm.

The CableMod C-Series 3.0/4.0 PCIe 4.0 x16 Riser Cable is a high-quality cable that is designed to provide a reliable connection between your graphics card and your motherboard. The cable is made of high-quality materials and is shielded to prevent interference. The cable also comes with a 5-year warranty.

The NZXT Internal USB 3.1 Gen 2 to PCIe 4.0 x16 Riser Cable is a well-made cable that is designed to provide a reliable connection between your graphics card and your motherboard. The cable is made of high-quality materials and is shielded to prevent interference. The cable also comes with a 2-year warranty.

The SilverStone PEX4L-4C is a high-quality cable that is designed to provide a reliable connection between your graphics card and your motherboard. The cable is made of high-quality materials and is shielded to prevent interference. The cable also comes with a 3-year warranty.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

So that AI would cross reference and do the research , how reliable it is still not sure, but when i measured the distance myself on the GPU bracket mount it was around 8.5mm

So I actually just got this exact case about 2 weeks ago. I wasn't planning on using the riser since I also have a need for a sound card (I hate the built in sound cards, they're such [***CENSORED***]). However, I agree I was also somewhat unimpressed that they don't include the riser cable as well, given the price of the setup.

Needless to say, I wasn't aware that MSI also had a riser cable setup. Sadly, it's expensive at $70 + shipping.......I could order one of course. But I don't need it now.

From what I've read, almost any riser cable should work well. I would probably stick to good well known brands though.....I know we've seen a lot of issues with less reputable companies cables, back during the mining craze.

Thanks for sharing that research, good job. Im checking out forums and info on a site called techpowerup.com. I think its only a matter of time before someone says I’ve got a certain product and here’s a picture of it fixed on the bracket that would be more conclusive. It’s a shame the vertical bracket itself doesn’t have a name or product number that could be searched. When my case arrives i will register with different forum sites as its the only way to ask a specific question or comment on others like ours and I will keep you up to date. I like the cable mod gear i have searched there site but again there’s that uncertainty of will it wont it fit. When i asked companies like overclockers and the like they just gave a list of products they sell and claimed they all fit which i know not to be factually true without drilling holes in it to fit this would be a last resort kind of i give up thing.

Thanks darkhawk for that info can i ask is the riser you refer to the same one i was checking out at the Msi store USA? Part number - MPG PCIe 4.0 X16 $69 if its the same one i have tried to order it but they only deliver in the USA. When i asked on an MSI forum i got an answer from MSI Poland telling me that this part is not sold anywhere else and is for a certain product not sold outside of the USA. This is the reason I stated I’m going round in circles and like you say its easy to fill a spare draw with parts you thought were going to suffice only to find it not fit or worse a ripoff clone that is substandard. I have time as I am gathering all my components before i start build and the finale will be fitting the gpu.

So far I’ve got…
Meg godlike
Meg Ai1300P
I9 13900KS
Meg prospect 700r (preorder)
Meg core liquid S360 (preorder)
I soon will order…
WD SN850X 4TB
G-SKILL Trident Z5 7200 32GB (48GB if released soon enough)
SuprimX 4090
RadiX AXE6600 router
I may have to upgrade to a water/liquid reservoir pump solution for the 13900KS as i think it may have been a mistake by me being greedy or pursuit of the best i can get.
I also have a large secretlabs Magnus pro sit/stand desk to put it all on.
I bought the Samsung G8 32” curved monitor but in future want to upgrade to the 57” curved that was at CES Las Vegas.
When I eventually get a sim rig for F1 racing and flight (helicopters preferably) i will get VR probably Varjo but that will be end of the year.
