MPG PCIe 4.0 x16 GPU riser cable for Prospect 700R

Im going around in circles trying to find this product. Im building an all MSI gaming pc, my case ( prospect 700r) comes with a vertical bracket for my 4090, but you have to buy the riser cable separately. The MSI one i want is available ( named in title of thread) in the good old US of A, searching and asking i finally tracked it down at the MSI USA store, after signing up and going through the process of ordering i find they only deliver within the US. It seems making them an offer they can’t refuse doesn’t work anymore so is there any man/woman alive that can help me find an MPG PCIe 4.0 x16 GPU riser cable. Failing that has anybody used another suitable brand preferably that does not require an adaption to fit the vertical bracket provided. Thanks, Steven.

Thanks darkhawk for that info can i ask is the riser you refer to the same one i was checking out at the Msi store USA? Part number - MPG PCIe 4.0 X16 $69 if its the same one i have tried to order it but they only deliver in the USA. When i asked on an MSI forum i got an answer from MSI Poland telling me that this part is not sold anywhere else and is for a certain product not sold outside of the USA. This is the reason I stated I’m going round in circles and like you say its easy to fill a spare draw with parts you thought were going to suffice only to find it not fit or worse a ripoff clone that is substandard. I have time as I am gathering all my components before i start build and the finale will be fitting the gpu.

Yeah. I was checking it out. Cause I thought I might use it, until I realized it killed being able to use ANY other slots on the motherboard.....so I didn't bother.

I'd just order something else. From what I've looked at online and on Amazon, they all appear to have semi-standard holes to attach it to the bracket. I wouldn't worry about it TOO much, I'd worry more about finding one from a reputable brand more than anything now.

That being said, I'm sure you'll enjoy the case, for the most part.....I could go through all the various problems I had with it (expect to move the 3.5" hard drive holders forward, not enough for the PSU with cables by default....which is dumb....and expect to remove the front fan holder in order to move the 3.5" bays....because of how it was all designed......The 'side fan' bracket is also reversible to install it, however, 1 way you can close the side panel, and the other you can't.....took me an hour to figure that one out.....it should've been keyed so it could only be installed 1 way).....but overall, I'm enjoying the case now that I have everything installed.

Thanks for advice H, Yes i did but i have tried again as the answer i got was from MSI Poland and stated what stockists of third party items have that anything will do basically.

Got some rather good news regarding the Riser cable received this email today from MSI UK

Good afternoon,

Hope you had a nice easter.

The riser cable for Prospect 700R was supposed to be bundled by the distributor but due to an operational error, some units were shipped without the cable.

We asked our distributor to send back all the remaining riser cables back to MSI UK so it can be distributed by MSI UK directly. We expect to receive the cables sometime this week and proceed with the dispatches immediately. Please bear with us and we’ll be in touch soon.

I got that too but haven’t had time to post it. That is very good news and well played by MSI. I have to wait my pre-order delivery then give them the SN and invoice numbers etc… I emailed them saying people were wasting money on 3rd parties that didn’t fit the bracket provided. Result! Can you post a picture of it when it arrives as i think I’m still a long way from mine being delivered, it still says pre-order on the site.

Also don't forgot about the promotions , i got the free game ( Hunt showdown ) from msi , free bite back edition of Redfall with the graphics card ( retailer ) , cashback offer for this prospect case which you claim through MSI, and if you leave a review and follow the shoutout link on the MSI website you get a £16 steam code, worth doing as it only takes minutes.

Yea i got the code for Hunt showdown and I’ve yet to buy the 4090 for the other one, Im going to do the cash back when my case arrives pre-ordered from overclockers so i will apply for that, the core liquid and the board at the same time, My power supply is not on the list which is strange. I filled in the form for the review but got stuck, now everybody is gonna think I’m simple but here goes anyway, they ask for URL to connect with the review i gave but I don’t know what to put is it overclockersuk site and the other one scan UK Site?

So MSI have shipped it and it should be with me on Monday, the only issue i'm having with the case itself is that MSI center won't see the case, there is a new case tab and clicking that it goes to a scan page which just wants to scan for stuff and just offer norton and intel tuning utility, advanced scan did offer a LCD firmware for the case, and i followed the instructions to unplug the argb before updating and it did update successfully, as it shows in hardware list of MSI center but i still can't get to an option so i can upload a custom screensaver, not really a deal breaker but seems like MSI center has a problem, not sure if it's worth making a new topic about it as not many people have this case.

Im still waiting for case, no comms from OcUK, no eta, I’ve just registered with OcUK forum to ask if there is an eta. Maybe that’s a place you could try.

I got £56 in steam credits for writing reviews when i entered them on my new steam account the next morning it came back with redeemed already for half of them, i only got £39.25 credits. I have sent this info to MSI as yet no answer. Did you have any problem when you registered Yours?

I think it will take a while, but they will come through with it - i haven't received any credits/cashback , only the games. I remember when Asus did a similar thing a few months back the cash back dropped randomly after a couple months, i guess there must be alot of claims. Regarding the LCD screensaver it's not a major issue would be nice to chuck something on there, but every other feature works , i have opened a ticket regarding it and sent in screenshots so if all else fails i'll try MSI UK.

All I can say is that everything works fine for me. I can 'see' the case, and change settings, etc.....via MSI Center. I had to reboot a few times to get everything to work though. The first time it detected it, but the case page didn't load or work, so I rebooted 2 or 3 times and then it started working just fine.

You could try contact them, the UK guys seems to answer the fastest

All I can say is that everything works fine for me. I can 'see' the case, and change settings, etc.....via MSI Center. I had to reboot a few times to get everything to work though. Yea i tried restart, reboot, switching from MB sync to MSI, still no luck the case tab only shows a update type page with nothing to update, it's all connected properly as all the other features on the touch screen work fine so there's either a conflict somewhere with one of the devices or the software is giving issues.

That's strange. Maybe one of the ports on your motherboard is messed up? Or who knows.....I guess I just got lucky and it worked the first time I plugged it in?

Thanks, well both ports are in use, 1 is for the corsair 150i elite lcd xt 360, and then 1 for the case, the case one has 2 wires going to 1 usb and the corsair one has a splitter, i think the case usb was connected through the splitter and it didn't work like that, it needed it's own usb 2.0 ( tried the nzxt internal 2.0 hub too, didn't work! ).

ah. Well, at least everything works. That's what matters in the end.
Worst case, you can always get a splitter that'll take those USB2.0 headers and turn them into like 6. I have one in my case that I added, just to make life easier.
