Hi everyone, is the samsung 990 pro M2 bug has been resolved? or does anyone have any solution? i've had this issues just last month, bought the mobo since early july with no issue whatsoever from the start (using the 990 pro from the start of new installation, upgrading from previous b760 tomahawk wifi). regularly updating the bios up to the latest ones then this problem just hit me out of the water.
I have no issues about the detection tho, but since the last 2 bios updates my 990 pro didn't want to play nice if the pcie is set to gen 4 mode giving me bsod, system lockup/freeze.
it all goes well if i set all the pcie for m2 to gen 3 (gpu pcie is still on gen 4 mode), no bsod or system freeze. having different pcie gen settings (tried only the 990 pro set to gen 3 and the rest of my nvme to gen 4) still gives me bsod & freeze issue. i have 3 nvme and this only happen if i install the 990 pro to the system.
Just using 2 of my nvme (crucial p3 plus and kingston nv2) and set it to gen 4 mode didn't give me any bsod/freeze issues. but as soon as i put the 990 pro to the system and select pcie gen 4 mode, boom. i have tried using only the 990 pro and remove the rest of the nvme, still no go. i have also tried reverting the bios back to last stable non beta bios (i forget the version) which i have not had this issue before, problem persist. I already RMA'd my first failing 990 pro (thought it was the drive that gone bad, they already sent new replacement unit even tho the drive is tested normal and had no issue on the service center which makes me think the problem is on the board, so here i am after looking for info on the internet)
The only thing i have not tried is reverting the amd chipset driver to previous version than the latest one that is installed rn. what do u guys think? it's been solid rn for 3 days (about a dozen cold boot) if i set all m2 pcie mode to gen 3 with all the drives installed not a single crashes, bsod or system freeze
