Hello. I hope someone can help. I built my system a week ago and other then this issue rearing its head everything has been working very well indeed.

I find that on every second or third boot into Windows 11 my M2_2 NVME, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB is not detected. The primary M2_1, Samsung 980 Pro 1TB containing the OS, is always detected fine. I tried booting into the bios 5 times last night and the 990 Pro always shows, possibly ruling out a slot connectivity issue?

I'm more inclined in believing this is a BIOS bug or a problem with the 990 Pro SSD.

Hi everyone, is the samsung 990 pro M2 bug has been resolved? or does anyone have any solution? i've had this issues just last month, bought the mobo since early july with no issue whatsoever from the start (using the 990 pro from the start of new installation, upgrading from previous b760 tomahawk wifi). regularly updating the bios up to the latest ones then this problem just hit me out of the water.

I have no issues about the detection tho, but since the last 2 bios updates my 990 pro didn't want to play nice if the pcie is set to gen 4 mode giving me bsod, system lockup/freeze.
it all goes well if i set all the pcie for m2 to gen 3 (gpu pcie is still on gen 4 mode), no bsod or system freeze. having different pcie gen settings (tried only the 990 pro set to gen 3 and the rest of my nvme to gen 4) still gives me bsod & freeze issue. i have 3 nvme and this only happen if i install the 990 pro to the system.

Just using 2 of my nvme (crucial p3 plus and kingston nv2) and set it to gen 4 mode didn't give me any bsod/freeze issues. but as soon as i put the 990 pro to the system and select pcie gen 4 mode, boom. i have tried using only the 990 pro and remove the rest of the nvme, still no go. i have also tried reverting the bios back to last stable non beta bios (i forget the version) which i have not had this issue before, problem persist. I already RMA'd my first failing 990 pro (thought it was the drive that gone bad, they already sent new replacement unit even tho the drive is tested normal and had no issue on the service center which makes me think the problem is on the board, so here i am after looking for info on the internet)

The only thing i have not tried is reverting the amd chipset driver to previous version than the latest one that is installed rn. what do u guys think? it's been solid rn for 3 days (about a dozen cold boot) if i set all m2 pcie mode to gen 3 with all the drives installed not a single crashes, bsod or system freeze

Not sure if this one is related or not, this problem happen around late september, 1 month after i upgrade my gpu to 4070 ti. been using 3080 ti prior to this, never had this problem it's been rock solid since july. Funny thing is, this never happen from the start of the gpu swap until that late september i mentioned. I've tried removing the gpu and using the system with only igpu, set all the drives to gen 4 mode and did some test. Most of the time the system runs fine but still has once or twice the same bsod/freeze issue, not as frequent or instant as when the gpu is installed and drives set to gen 4 mode.

The gpu itself is fine and didn't have any issue. I'm using the system with all drives set to gen 3 mode, gpu installed and set to gen 4 mode rn and the system runs fine without any single bsod, hiccups or system freeze. Got all the benchmark done (3d mark, unigine, r23 and r24) and without any performance problems or below average score for any respective hardware beside the decreased speed of the nvme that was forced to gen 3 settings.

One thing to note is, the bsod/crash happens when the 990 pro is doing write operation on gen 4 mode, with or without the gpu although it only happen once or twice if gpu is not installed and will instantly happen when the gpu installed. All is well if the 990 pro removed, only using the crucial & kingston drive set to gen 4 mode and the gpu is installed also on gen 4 mode, did not have any single bsod/crashed or system freeze
