Many of us need to activate Spread Spectrum...
Enabling Spread Spectrum isn’t an error the option is there for a reason. I’ve kept mine on AUTO since day one.
I tried enabling it and noticed no difference, then disabled it again with the same result.
So in my case, I couldn’t care less and just leave it on AUTO, and I’ve never had any issues with my Carbon Wifi.
You misunderstood his "Error" meaning.

I guess I'm lucky, I've had no issues with my Carbon
I had an issue with the USB dropping out at first. Figured it out after a couple days. The second X870 chipset on the board uses PCI Express Lanes for backhaul, so do some of the USB ports and also sound chip is a USB based chip. So I turned off PCIe power management in the old control panel's power plan settings. Also turned off USB power management. No problems since then for about a year now. I put some of the blame on Microsoft for this. Not just MSI... but it's been pretty solid.
Some of the issues people had with the Wi-Fi dropping out were solved by shutting off the computer, unplugging it and holding in the power switch for 30 seconds to discharge the EC (embedded controller) chip. Wait 15 minutes and plugged it back in.

Not an intuitive procedure but it worked if done correctly. I'm on 1A8. Waiting for AGESA 1.3.0.0 final, not the pre... (beta 1A95) or alpha version.

I don't know it is big problem is with the fch thing it FCH =on and bus at 100.3 and if it fixes the PCI bug just enable it and move on. My board as the bug in newer bios and this fixed it just enable it. And I just don't know why msi just don't do the same.

My 2 cents: A95 seems more stable than A80 for overclocking : ram can clock a little higher with the same kit, and BCLK can go a bit higher too ..
Thanks for the note. I've been holding off on upgrading from A64 because it's mostly stable with my medium-level memory and PBO overclocks. I've got a sneaking suspicion that as soon as I upgrade MSI will release a new one and I haven't had time to run long tests on my computer. But with the boot cert expiry coming up, it's looking like I'll need to soon anyway.
So, why people do not return in the first weeks, or RMA faulty boards, and chose to fighting with trash and whining on Internet forums? Sorry for offensive tone, but I can’t understand this mentality. If something do not working as intended, instant RMA, if can not wait, do some investigation about other vendors mobos, buy new, and sell when RMAed one come back.
In response to this... some of us ran fine for a months or a year before this began happening, or as has been mentioned, the problems began once we upgraded to newer graphics cards. Mine was kicked off by a BIOS upgrade in ... January 2025, I believe. But the problem isn't regular enough for an RMA; you can't reliably get it to repeat on some boards, and on others it only happens once every 3 weeks. MSI RMA will boot it up and it'll run fine for that test, then they'll return it after 3 weeks (and probably our cost to ship it to them) with no fix. Or replace it with another "recertified" board per the warranty terms which may have even worse problems since it seems all Carbons have the same issues at some level.
I got two of the first-release Carbons in November 2024. Had so many struggles getting mine stable that I held off for several months getting the other one built and tested, and that one seems to have occasional reboot issues when idle.
Just not a fun experience and FAR too much time trying to get these boards running stable. And the problem has gone mostly unacknowledged by MSI, which is the most disappointing part. Nothing official to test for, or to work for stability. No notes on when the board needs to come in for repair. It seems more that they're trying to run out the clock on the warranty.

"It seems more that they're trying to run out the clock on the warranty." , Exactly!!!
Unfortunately, MSI is not alone. The first to introduce this anti-consumer policy was, and still is, ASUS. MSI hold it for quite some time, but once they embraced it, they took it to another level.

Yep, asus RMA is terrible. And funny thing, people from asus side having a lot of problems with their AMD mobos too, and switching to MSI or GB, talking this same way “ never again Asus MB” When I was researching my new mobo year ago, I was shocked how bad Asus mobos was trashed on Asus Reddit.

This comment made me think they nailed the PCI-E bug in the march 20th BIOS update. I just flashed my B850 and now I have the same issue as Sko-Induktor below. Shame on me for not hooking up an LLM to this thread already.
Haha, you got me! I used an AI to help with my English since it's not my first language and I wanted to be clear, but the experience with the board is 100% mine. Honestly, the 1.A95 BIOS has been solid on my X870E Carbon with a 9800X3D. Sucks that the B850 version is giving you trouble though, hopefully they fix it soon.

Maybe you are late on Asus party, this 2Dimms AYW Gaming OC mobo doesn't exist year ago, don't follow the Reddit's rookies out there, grab one Asus first as you can speak later, i swaped on Asus boat get rid of MSI cause lack of entirely AMD CBS section DDR Timings settings & stuff hidden in Bios for no reason
Guess what, a lot of DDR missing features from MSI rocks on Asus, from 8000 to 8300GearOFF with the same cpu & mem combo parts

Updated to .1A98
Hey Svet, just a heads-up on the new 1A98 build. I updated from 1A95 and although the flash was successful, the system got stuck on post code 00 after the reboot. I tried a full cold boot (unplugged the PSU), which got me to code 02 once, but after a Clear CMOS I was back to 00. Even tried a clean Flash BIOS Button run with no USB peripherals connected, but still no luck. I had to revert back to 1A95 to get the system running again. Seems like 1.3.0.1 might have some compatibility issues with the 9800X3D or specific RAM training on this board

Update on my RMA journey to fix the PCIe bug...

I received my x870e Carbon back from RMA service today that I sent them due to the PCIe bug. I received the same board (serial number verified), so it was not swapped with a replacement. The ONLY note about anything they did to repair the board was "Repair Ok". That's it... No we replaced xyz chip, we reflashed BIOS, nothing.. upon visual inspection it still looks new. I don't see any solder marks or flux stains. At this point, I can only assume they powered it on and didn't see an issue and just sent it back.. I will need to test it to see if the PCIe bug still persists, but am going to sell it as a white box refurb anyway being I got the Asus dark hero. (That still works perfectly btw)

Another Note: the white box it was shipped back in has ZERO protection for the motherboard or space to house any accessories. It did have 1 layer of bubble wrap around the white box and was inside a larger brown box, but not enough to prevent it from flopping around inside the larger box. So as expected, I packed it much better when I shipped it to them...

MSI was always "conservative" regarding bios settings however they want to present them self as OCers choice of boards and stuff, even the MEG series compared to ASUS and most of the other vendors. I never looked at MSI as OC choice ,if I want to go ballistic with OC and Tuning I would go ASUS .

That’s exactly what is expected from them. Unfortunately, my experience with ASUS Support and RMA was equally bad; it was so disappointing that I switched to MSI about 15 years ago. and said never again ASUS , I don’t think much has changed since then if anything, it may have gotten worse. Now that MSI is in the same boat, I might consider going back to ASUS, as the support and RMA for all seem equally garbage .

Got it, thanks.

Yeah i know, maybe "conservative" is too much, MSI tech castrated AMD CBS DDR Options which was given by AMD to all vendors for free in vain, their boards looks more like "casual"

And was no needed to touch any of AMD Overclocking DDR Timings for 8300 to work, so hit better an Asus UEFI for 2 birds OC with 1 stone happy me 😉
