MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI DDR4 Ethernet Dropping

I'm experiencing frequent, brief ethernet disconnects while using the onboard port on my MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI DDR4. I can start to download large files for a few seconds (Up to 30 seconds at one point) and then I see the download fail, Chrome tells me to "check my connection status", and Windows Ethernet status says "no internet" as I notice the evil globe of no internet death in my task tray.

I have already updated the BIOS to the latest version available (E7D31IMS.1E0) and installed the latest Intel network driver from the official MSI support page. I have been reading a ton of similar posts where people have had issues with Intel I-225V Ethernet. This MSI forum post in particular has a similar issue and states that they resolved it by updating the "NVM" - if I am mistaken, shouldn't that have already happened when I ran the .exe within the official driver I downloaded? I've tried different cables and connected other computers to this Ethernet cable and do not have the same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I can provide any other details. Running the latest version of Win 11 Home, 22H2.

Update: I uninstalled the I-225V driver from Device Manager and checked the box that said "Remove this driver from my device". I then downloaded the "Intel® Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack" from the Intel I-225 support page here. Still has not helped. I also notice that my download speed seems to start out "normal" and gradually decrease from ~300mbps to ~30mbps on a Google speed test. Upload speed usually fails because by this point the driver has given out completely. Minor, but I thought worth noting..

Edit: I also just installed a TP Link TG-3468 PCIe network card and I'm still seeing the exact same issues. I disabled the Intel driver to zero out the possibility of it somehow being used. This card uses a Realtek gigabit driver, not even Intel. What gives? Does this board just need RMAd?

What's your router? I think this has to do with what's on the other end, that the combination has problems. Otherwise, trust me, we'd be flooded with complaints here. I have the same I225-V, people i know have it, none of us are having these problems with it. Also, if it's really a firmware problem of this Intel LAN chip, then RMAing the board would achieve absolutely nothing, you'd have the same problem again with the new board. If we know the router, we can search from that angle.

I am fixing this computer on behalf of someone else, and the internet issue was apparent on their home network as well. Nonetheless, that is a good point - when the internet drops while a Chrome tab is trying to be loaded, I get the Chrome error "DNS_PROBE_STARTED" and then a few seconds later, the page refreshes automatically with the Chrome error "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET". So maybe this could be an internet issue.. Would just be interesting if it was happening on both of our networks.

I live in an apartment complex so my modem/router combo is managed by CenturyLink. Model is C3510XZ. Connected to a Netgear TL-SG106 unmanged 5 port switch.

Hmm, read here, same issue it seems, but different router model... and weirdly enough, two guys seem to have fixed it by switching to your router model, heh. But it's too much of a coincidence to find this same kind of issue right away with one of their routers. This suggests disabling IPv6 in the LAN driver is worth a try. Do you know what router the person you're helping has?

Problem persists after disabling IPv6, along with the power management driver setting that allows the computer to turn off Ethernet. I can inquire about my friend's router model. I just got the second BSOD with the same DMA error, so I guess I'll look in the logs and try to find anything helpful.

Update! The USB C to Ethernet adapter seems to be working just fine. Considering the amount of time I’ve wasted trying to solve this issue, I encourage everyone who might see this in the future to immediately order one.
