You wouldn't think that there would be too much difference between win7 and vista.

If I repartition this laptop Vista, install the drivers and then upgrade to win7, do you think the tv would keep working ??
That is....assuming if it works with vista.

If I could find out the brand and model of this tuner, I might get the drivers from the company or somewhere else.

That's the idea of contacting MSI. But I can't see how to write to them directly.

Also if I knew the name of the program used to view the tv, it might have the right drivers built in.

That link to MSI doesn't work. It gives a 404 error.

and yes I have seen the card, it resides in a drawer that slides out after removing one screw.
I could not find any thing written on the tuner board when I removed it to have a look.
Can you show a picture of this 'TV tuner card'?

I have re-formatted the hdd and installed vista ultimate 32bit.
The results are exactly the same as my first post.

I downloaded the 2 drivers for L745, Hybrid and Digital.
The installers say success, but "Digital TV Receiver" still shows up in "other devices" with a yellow exclamation mark in device manager.

The drivers are not installing.

I think the tuner is called MT6000

Somehow, during repeated uninstall and reinstall of the different drivers, it is now suddenly working.

It is working really well.

I had it working with media center but I don't like it.
D Scaler doesn't see the card so it's no good.

Now all I need to know is what the original intended program is, to view the TV ???...Probably whatever was originally packaged with the laptop.
