Hello!

Does anybody knows where it is possible to get new firmware (if it exists) for MSI CD-RW 8332 and flash utility

I have 120D firmware and it does not recognize almost all new media - 40x CD-R disks it can write at 12x .... X(
12x RW - at 4x :evil:

Maybe anybody knows who is OEM manufacturer for that drive (Mitsumi ?)

Well, MSI MS8332 seems to be a pure CyberDrive CW058D

But I can't flash CyberDrive's firmware because it did not want to flash MSI drive

I'll patch the flasher if I have some spare time

By the way : MSI 8332 costs the same as TEAC 540E, which is more powerfull and reliable :rolleyes:

Local MSI distributor send me the latest firmware 150D for my drive and flash utility which can flash ANY firmware.

With new firmware some disks can be written more faster. There is a file where all CD-R & CD-RW's and their speeds listed. I can share this firmware through Inet if somebody wishes or via email.

This drives did not work with CyberDrive's firmwares - only detects in BIOS.

I even try to flash firmware from MSI 40/12/48 - and it works!

When I'd flashed firmware from 32/12/40 Mitsumi my drive die :( - even don't detect himself in BIOS and even did not ejects tray by the button :rolleyes:

I'v bought TEAC 540E and happy :p - it does everything fine :D
