So around a week ago my Grapix card on idle is 49-51. When i get into games the temp reaches the max temp of 83. Whitch ive never seen that high before. Now my computer keeps shutting down because it keeps reaching the high temp in msi afterburner. Ive checked the fans and dusted it all properly. Idk what to do and i need a new one? Please someone help.

83C is normal for a graphics card under full load. Note, that certain application will stress the graphics card differently and many games will not stress to 100% when running at lower resolutions and when V-sync is enabled.

The GPU can easily operate at temperatures up to 95C. Although high 80C is usually the maximum.

Don't set the high temperature warning so low.

How do you mesure the temperature? And what should be the optimal setings?

Use latest Help Desk to export the system info and post the text information in here.

You always could check the system loading and CPU/GPU temperature by Dragon Center.

But your CPU/GPU temperature looks normal and the shutdown problem should not cause by the heat.

When did the problem happen? With heavy loading games? Or others?

Is the shutdown problem looks like BSOD? BSOD issue could find the mini dump from C:\Windows\Minidump. You could attach them in comment, too.
