has anyone had luck undervolting their 3080TI GXT and getting lower temps? using MSI Afterburner I do a custom fan curve set at 1900 and managed to get it stable at 925 mV. however, the temp is only a difference of 4-5 degrees and not really sure if that's worth it.

Well, what temps are you talking about? There is of course a physical limit of how low temps can be considering a high-end gpu like a 3080Ti.

if you have MSI Center installed, you could disable Zero Frozr to improve thermal performance: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/time-to-upgrade-your-software-–-msi-center.362782/post-2077658
and have you checked if the thermal pads and paste are covering the VRAM?
Will test disabling zero frozr. I have not checked thermal pads/paste. That will be a last resort.

80-83 depending on what game Im playing. Stock during heaven benchmark will be 80/81. When I underclocked 1900 @ 925 it would hover 77-78

Well then you in the correct target range of temps for the GPU, Most the New GPU Nvidia 3000 series and AMD 6000 have a target temp of 80c for best thermal performance and noise levels. GPU will not start to throttle till it gets over 90c or thereabouts for Nvidia and 100c for AMD

Gotcha. Well that’s good to know. I was just a bit concerned that it may be a slightly high overall.

No, perfectly fine. It is a very power hungry and therefor hot gpu. Takes quite some effort to cool it. Around 80°C is quite normal for all the high-end gpus these days.

makes sense. will be switching out cases for one with better air flow and more fans in the next month or so. i'm guessing that will help a bit as well overall. good to know that 80C is fairly normal though.
