MSI 8340 Woes...

Hello.
I keep getting the error message: "No Seek Complete". his happens early on in the burn--at the 2%-3% mark. The drive spits out the disk, pops up the aforementioned error message, and basically "dies" until I reboot. That is, it won't respond to my hitting eject. It just hangs out there for all the world to see.

I'm using the latest Nero, as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
SR

Spekter_Rat,

Which OS are you using and which version of Nero?

Your computer specs would be helpfull too.

Take Care,

Richard

OK, I'm running Win98se
Nero 5.5.9.9

As per the specs you're wanting--what specs are you needing, and how do I find 'em?

(Sorry for being such a pain.)

I can't find the exact version of your board on MSI's site, but it does use a via chipset.

Did it come with 4 in 1 drivers? If so, have you updated the to the newest ones?

I solved my 8340 problem by doing this. I also updated my bios and turned off the S.M.A.R.T. in the bios. I'm not sure if that made the difference though.

I would definetly update bios and 4 in 1's however.

Good luck.

J. :p
