I don't know if this is a bug or an issue with my board only, so I ask here if someone can test this or have any info on it.
After updating the bios to 7B89vAD and installing a Ryzen 3800x, any time I enable smart fan for sys fan the display port on my graphics card stops working. The HDMI still works fine, so I can connect the monitor to the graphics card HDMI, go into bios and disable smart fan then display port starts working again.
The graphics card is a GTX 1080ti and everything worked fine including the smart fan before I updated the bios to 7B89vAD. I have reset CMOS, used different monitor and cable and also tested a different card which is an r9 390. The DisplayPort on graphics card seems to be tied to the smart fan function on the motherboard, enable smart fan (sys fan)-> DisplayPort stops working, disable smart fan(sys fan) -> display port starts working again.
The fans connected are two Silverstone air penetrator 120mm with a Y splitter to sys fan 2. However, I tried with a single Deepcool fan without the splitter and the same issue happens.
Motherboard: MSI B450M Mortar [Titanium]
Bios 7B89vAD
CPU Ryzen 7 3800x
Graphics card EVGA GTX 1080ti

.Axx BIOSes are not for listed board.
Can you clarify that you really have B450M Mortar and not B450M MORTAR TITANIUM or B450M MORTAR MAX?
Can you list S/N of your board?

Yes it is the Msi B450 mortar titanium
Okay, then you listed it wrong originally as [MSI B450M Mortar]
There is no new BIOS than .AD0 to try at the moment
If you flash back to .AC0 BIOS, does it works correctly?

The bios before update that worked perfectly with same fans was vA4 I think but I don' t remeber for sure. I have not tried to flash back to vAC yet, I thought I would ask here to see if anyone has encountered a similar issue. I will flash to older versions and write back.

Yes, test it to confirm the BIOS issue.

Flashback to 7B89vAC fixed the problem. The smart fan works perfectly and fans ramp up and down with the system temperature. It seems that this issue is a bug introduced in the latest bios (7B89vAD) only.
I don't see any performance degradation which is great.
Thank you very much for your help.
I will correct the motherboard model in the thread title in case someone searches for this. The pcb on these two boards seems identical, but the bios versions are different. I am curious what differences are there between these two?

Got it, thanks for confirming.
Stick to AC BIOS that worked fine for now.
Will be back to when there is a solution for this issue or if more info is need.

Can you clarify if you are using multiple displays too?
And when you got a black screen with DP, do you mean everywhere [BIOS setup for example]
or only under Windows?
