MSI B450M PRO M2 CPU Compatibility

Hi, I recently got an MSI B450M PRO-M2 motherboard for almost nothing. I’d like to run either a Ryzen 5 5500X3D or a Ryzen 5 5600X on it. However, when I check the official CPU compatibility list, I only see Ryzen 3000 series models listed.

On the other hand, the latest BIOS versions include AGESA updates with Ryzen 5000 family support, and SMU Checker also suggests that support should be there.

Does anyone here have any experience with this board and Ryzen 5000 CPUs? Maybe I’m missing something or misunderstanding the compatibility situation.

most likely it's supported, MSI website does not always update properly and if you check x370 board, the CPU is listed under QVL.
but of course you'll need the latest BIOS installed.

MSI confirms the board layout does not support Ryzen 5000 CPU so you want to avoid that CPU.
