Hello!
I'm in the process of setting up a new PC from scratch, with all new components. However, I've encountered two issues that I'd like to share with you to see if you can help me:

1. Every time I turn on the computer, there's no display on the monitor. Although it visually appears that all components are working correctly inside the case, I can't seem to get any image on the monitor. So far, the only solution I've found is to perform a Clear CMOS every time I turn on the computer, which is quite inconvenient but effective, as it allows the computer to start properly.

2. Every time Windows goes into sleep mode, upon waking it up, the computer undergoes a complete restart, as if it were starting from scratch. Additionally, it doesn't retain the state of any tasks that were in progress before the suspension. Everything in the operating system reappears as if it were a fresh Windows startup.

I would appreciate any advice or suggestions to resolve these issues. Below are the specs of my setup.
Thank you in advance!

Hi, does anyone have an issue like mine? A black screen after updating to the new bios (7D76vA8 AGESA ComboPI 1.0.9.00), force restart and the system going back to normal. Every time the system goes to sleep, it happens again. Clear CMOS also doesn`t help.

GIGABYTE RTX 3070TI VISION OC

Thank you!

Hi!

I've just upgraded my pc to the same motherboard and CPU and ran into the same issue, I ended up flashing the bios to an earlier version ( 7D75v1A1 ) and it seems to have fixed the display issues.
Hope this helps :)

Hello all,

I bought a Ryzen 7 7800X 3D, 32 Gb of DDR5 (Corsair Vengeance) and a MB Msi PRO B650 P-Wifi (latest BIOS : 7D78v19) and I have an issue : I have my RTX 4070 connected, and sometimes at boot, no display, I can hear the Windows 11 boot song and if I plug my DP cable on the DP port of the MB, I have display.
A quick tour on Windows and I don't find my CG, like if it was gone.

If I boot later with my RTX 4070 plugged again to my monitor, it will work smoothly. It seems it's totally random, it drives me crazy.
I tried a kind of workaround : plug a HDMI cable from the MB to my screen and have a DP cable connected from my RTX 4070 to the screen but I did 3 boots, 2 worked fine (display on DP on boot OK and one failed, and if I check Windows from HDMI : the RTX 4070 is gone).

If anyone have a similar issue with a workaround or a fix, I am really interested.

Many thanks !

I am having the same problem, and had just registered to ask the same thing. No display from discrete GPU, but works if I plug DP cable into integrated graphics. Device manager only shows the integrated AMD graphics adapter. A reboot usually resolves the issue. Till the next time I boot.
In my case I have a Ryzen 9 7900X with a MSI MAG B650M MORTAR WIFI motherboard and an RTX4070.
As far as I can tell the issue is with the latest 7D76vA8 BIOS (AGESA 1.0.9.0).
If I downgrade to the previous version (7D76vA6 - AGESA 1.0.0.7c) the problem goes away. Reapply the update and the problem returns.
The only BIOS changes I have made from default are
  • Fan curves
  • Apply XMP profile
  • Wake from USB

(display on DP on boot OK and one failed, and if I check Windows from HDMI : the RTX 4070 is gone).
Is this in Device Manager that it is not showing at all not even an unknown device?

No issues with mine after the BIOS update. But I have a different CPU, RAM and GPU. Sleep also resumes normally. So it only happens when resuming from sleep?

Sleep resume, resolve after taking out the cmos battery, and put it back. It only happens when I restart; there is no boot screen but power on. Shut down and turn on the pc, then boot screen return it to normal 😔
Revert back to 7D76vA6 ( AGESA ComboPI 1.0.0.7c )

Hi everyone! I have a problem that keeps occurring. When I start up my computer from a cold start, it doesn't boot up and can only be prompted to do so by a reset. The process goes like this every time:

- Press the power button to turn it on
- DRAM and CPU LED light up for 4 seconds
- Fans start spinning, RGB lights up. Monitors stay black even when manually turned on, as there is no signal.
- a. From this point, you can wait indefinitely, but nothing changes. Eventually, the RGB lights turn off due to power-saving mode and can be woken up again by an input device.
- b. Press the reset button - Computer performs a reset, monitors turn on, boot logo appears, Windows starts.

Info:
Once the system booted, everything seems ok. Restarting is also no problem.

System

MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WiFi
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
MSI Nvidia Geforce RTX 4080 Suprim X
32GB G.Skill Flare X5 CL30
850W Corsair RM850e 80+Gold
2TB Kingston Fury Renegade

BIOS Version E7D75AMS.1A0 11/08/2023

It doesn‘t matter if Expo is enabled or disabled.
Enabling and disabling Memory Context Restore and Power Down doesn‘t fix it either.

Thanks for reading! Hoping someone can held me out of this.

Actually I am having an issue but not sure if it is due to this BIOS update. Just realised now. Different from your issue though.
Does event viewer show any logs that might be related to the black screen? When you say black screen, do you mean monitor is showing no signal?
