MSI B650-Chipset : Graphic card not detected (DisplayPort)

Hello!
I'm in the process of setting up a new PC from scratch, with all new components. However, I've encountered two issues that I'd like to share with you to see if you can help me:

1. Every time I turn on the computer, there's no display on the monitor. Although it visually appears that all components are working correctly inside the case, I can't seem to get any image on the monitor. So far, the only solution I've found is to perform a Clear CMOS every time I turn on the computer, which is quite inconvenient but effective, as it allows the computer to start properly.

2. Every time Windows goes into sleep mode, upon waking it up, the computer undergoes a complete restart, as if it were starting from scratch. Additionally, it doesn't retain the state of any tasks that were in progress before the suspension. Everything in the operating system reappears as if it were a fresh Windows startup.

I would appreciate any advice or suggestions to resolve these issues. Below are the specs of my setup.

SSD/ HDD, brand and model: WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe™ SSD
CPU COOLER: ID Cooling se 224 xt
Keyboard: Logitech mx keys mini
Mouse: Razer deathadder v2 pro
Any Additional PCIe cards installed into your system? (Yes/No, if yes exact model of the device): No
OC: No
Operating System: Windows 11 Version 23H2 (KB5032190)
Display: Viotek GNV34DBE2 34'
- Is it a TV?: No
- How display is connected to the GPU?: DP

System back to normal after reverting back to 7D76vA6 (AGESA ComboPI 1.0.0.7c), i think new bios issue..For now, I will just stick to the previous update.

No logs.. Yes, no signal.

Have heard Back from our Contact, the issue has been duplicated in the test lab on a 4070 only so far and findings were passed on to the Bios team for further investigation
For now, you can Reboot the system to address the problem or roll back to previous bios, till MSI rolls out a Fix for the bug, I will update this topic when I have more info.

Ok Update:

I flashed 7D75v17 and now the system is able to boot without needing a reset.
Only problem remaing is now that the screen flickers for a few ms on the MSI bootscreen. Its not the Monitor which loses signal.

@Alan J T I was building 2 pc with the same MB MSI-B650-p Wifi and the 1st one is running 7D75v19 with no issues w/ a 4070. I tried to see what was the difference between the 2 but only thing I could find is the one that works shows the Expo profile and the other one that doesn't detect gpu has both XMP & Expo. For the 2nd build I flashed 7D75v19 w/ a 4070 and it is not detecting a GPU. I then saw this article and flashed 7D75v17 but my display was still coming from the MB. It is not detecting the GPU. Should I go further back a Bios? I know MSI is working on a fix but I want to get this ready before the holiday. @Alan J T this forum was really helpful as I just spent 2 days troubleshooting the issue, glad it's known and hope it gets fixed soon.

Pro Motherboard OOR Business Series not really for gaming tend to be Black and white gaming series boards that have a Red GUI

Yes, I would roll back to Bios Agesa 1.0.0.7c as bios after that seem to be more bugged for some configs

Hi @Alan J T thanks for your feedback ! I just saw a new bios for my MB : 7D78v1A
Do you know if it resolves the display issue ? I will install it to check.

Edit : forget this new BIOS too, the issue is still here.

No fix yet I will update on this topic when I have some more info.

I bought a new mobo today, MSI PRO B650-P WIFI, paired with MSI's 4070 graphics card.
I immediately encountered an issue where enabling EXPO resulted in no display from the graphics card. It can be resolved by updating to the latest BIOS version which is released on December 7, 2023.
Everything is functioning well now, and even the boot time has become faster. You may want to give it a try.

我第一時間重現了啟用EXPO會造成顯示卡不顯示的問題，因此直接嘗試了更新到最新版本的BIOS。（官方網站寫著發行日為2023年12月7日）
目前一切正常甚至開機時間變得迅速，可以嘗試看看。

So I tried the Beta bios 7D78v1B1 and indeed, it seems it's resolved.
I tried to boot my computer 3 times successively and no issues at all, my RTX 4070 is automatically detected.
And you are right, it seems the boot time is faster than before (40 sec before, and now 25/27 seconds before the Windows screen - with Memory Power Down and Memory Context Restore enabled).

That's fantastic news! I'm glad your issue got resolved as well.

BWT I forgot to mention my hardware configuration earlier, so here it is:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (PBO auto)
Motherboard: MSI PRO B650-P WIFI (BIOS: 7D78v1B1 released on December 7, 2023)
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-5600 16GB * 2 (Enabled functions: EXPO, Memory Power Down, Memory Context Restore)
M.2_1: Kingston KC3000 1TB
M.2_2: Kingston SNVS1000G 1TB
GPU: MSI RTX4070 VENTUS 3X OC
PSU: MSI A850GL

No crash, no bug. Now I had played Game for 5 hours with no error.
As for the boot time, it has become similar to that of X570. Here are the different boot scenarios I've tested:
1. After shutting down Windows normally, cutting off power supply, waiting for 5 minutes, and then reconnecting power, I pressed the Power button to start.
2. While on the Windows desktop, I pressed the Power button to force a shutdown, and then pressed the Power button again to start.
3. After changing the BIOS settings, cutting off power supply, waiting for 5 minutes, and then reconnecting power, I pressed the Power button to start.
4. After changing the BIOS settings, I pressed the Power button to force a shutdown, and then pressed the Power button again to start.

In all these cases, the boot time is now similar to that of X570.

@Alan J T I figured out what my issue was. I was daisy chaining the pcie cable and only connecting one cable to the gpu. After going to Microcenter exchanging out the gpu and then being notified by the tech support team of needing to have 2 pcie cables connecting to the adapter. My GPU now works. I think I fried the GPU the last 2 times. It was my first time working with 40 series card so now I know. I just want to share the knowledge for anyone else having a similar problem. I had an Gigabyte AERO OC 4070
