Hi Guys new to msi forums,

just have a quick question, am really new to building comps and thought i would treat myself to the bb xpower (nice mobo) anyway, so far i have the mobo, bought a cm storm scout case and a corsair H50 cpu cooler, the question i have is with this mobo would it be possible to install a fan controller? i still have the cpu to get, cant really afford the i7 gulftown at the moment, but am going to go for the i7 930 bloomfield.

as i said im a bit of a noob as far as building comps goes, lol so any suggestions or tips on what or what not to do.

any help greatly appreciated.

thanks

would it be possible to install a fan controller?

Yes (a fan controller is usually a device call of its own that operates totally seperated from the mainboard so it does not really be compatible to the motherboard).

Anyway, any 4-Pin CPU-Fan connected to the CPU-Fan-Header (4-Pin) will be automatically regulated by the mainboard.  Also, as far as I know the System Fan Connectors of the board (SYSFan1-4) can be manually regulated via the BIOS or via a software tool such as SpeedFan.  So, the question is: Maybe that is already all you need and perhaps you do not even need an extra fan controller?

thanks for the info jack, i know a little more than i did, didnt know that fans could be controled from the bios so i guess i got a bit of reading to do,lol like i said im a bit of a noob at this so will prob have lots more questions to ask...

much appreciated
