Well, judging from my last two interactions with MSI, not even MSI seems to know themselves.
If I'm honest....MSI's marketing really aren't the brightest. That should be fairly clear from all the issues you see surrounding the promotions. It sucks. And I totally sympathize with you in regards to it.
But sadly, as I said, there really isn't anything we can do to help, even as moderators. We go through the same issues when we buy things and try to do it. Most of the time, we don't even bother anymore.

I had an issue with the whole process, partially because I screwed up and somehow had the wrong purchase date entered when I used Dragon software to register my mobo. Tom did eventually have the date corrected, and later, sent me a code for the Steam credit. Even if the promotion has 'lapsed', as long as you do due diligence here and by email, you should get taken care of.

Thx Tom and MSI!

I just got a reply from Tom H. They've told me that MSI will not be honoring my black friday promotion because I took too long to register for the promotion. Tom told me that the promotion was for November 27 and that they gave everyone a "grace period" of 2 weeks to register for the promotion. I ordered mine online from Canada Computers and, surprise, due to the pandemic + black friday, deliveries took longer than 2 weeks. This is simply a dirty way for MSI to promote something on black friday knowing that it would be unreasonable for most of their customers to register in time for this promotion. Taking advantage of people during the pandemic to make a quick buck. :(

It sucks. Like I said, not much anyone can do about it. At least you found out in just a few weeks......as opposed to the old mail in rebate type things where you'd find out maybe 6 months later, if you ever heard anything back at all.

You reminded me of my MSI 2080super rebate last year. Still no word on that one either... MSI seems quite unreliable for rebates and promos. You are right though, not much anyone can do about it If MSI decides to not honor their promos, warranties, rebates, we're all SOL. Too bad I can't return my mobo :( I guess I know what brand I'm not going with when I get my 3080 lol.

My case is very similar. I bought the B550 Tomahawk.
I registered, I sent a photo, proof of purchase, and the serial number of the box.
I got the information that the photo is from the box and is supposed to be from the motherboard.
I wanted to add them again but couldn't. Then I was informed that the promotion was over. A scam for me. No more MSI.
