Hello,
After windows updates and MSI updates, RX5500M is not working. When rebooted, it shows Code 43. After uninstalling the driver and refresh, it does show as working but no HDMI output for 2nd monitor. I can not run Davinch Resolve (video editing Software) as it can not find RX5500M as discrete GPU as well as lacking OpenCl.
Everything worked 2 weeks ago so I am assuming it started with Windows update and doing MSI one scan to update the AMD software.
I updated the BIOS and EC to the latest. Upgraded to Win 11 to see if it helps. Downgraded back to Win 10.
Did DDU in safe mode and reinstall the AMD software from MSI website as well as AMD software directly downloaded from AMD.
No worked.
I am assuming this is AMD driver issue.
Any other things to try out.

Thanks much in advance.

Try to do EC reset and check if there is any yellow exclamation mark in the device manager.
shutdown the laptop and unplg the AC > long press the power button for over 25 seconds > plug in the AC and power on the laptop
If the yellow exclamation mark disappeared after EC reset, try to install the AMD drivers again.

Thanks.
Did EC reset. Whenever I restart the Windows, I do get the yellow exclamation mark on the Radeon RX5500M.
I do uninstall the driver and do refresh then the yellow exclamation mark is gone.
Anyhow, after EC reset, I did try AMD driver downloaded from MSI center live update.
I got Error 186. AMD installer can not continue.
20.40.48.02 is current version and upgrading to 03. Did not work as mentioned.
I tried AMD driver direct from the AMD website. It successfully installed the driver and restarted.
No yellow exclmation mark on the RX5500M from device manager, but no HDMI output still.
I guess last resort is fresh windows install but trying not to do that yet.

Thanks

Looks like the port might broken, you may try to use another cable or use the same cable and screen on the other device to do cross checking.

Already tried the monitor and HDMI cable with another laptop. No issues.
Is there USB C to HDMI adaptor that I can try? I read the Bravo 15 does not support HDMI output via C port directly. Maybe works with HDMI adaptor?
Anything else to try? TIA

Thanks. I did try with Dell Hub which has Type C and HDMI output.
I will try to order one with displaylink chip.
Updated to windows 11 as i was getting Blue screen after restart. No issues with laptop except RX5500M is not working along with no HDMI output.
Will try clean Win 11 install as last resort. I still believe this is driver related issue. No HW changes were made. All worked fined 2 weeks ago!
MSI is just stating warranty expired.
May get a replacement laptop but certainly not MSI brand anymore.
Will report back in few days,

Thanks

Hi Jonathan even I am facing same issue when I try to connect my external monitor from HDMI to VGA adaptor It will detect the monitor but not displaying on screen I tried hell lot of steps but not getting solution Do you resolved issue If yes please share with me

I ended up not getting the displaylink chip enabled adaptor.
I tried Lenovo dock and another Dell TB enabled dock but still no displays.
I also tried different USB to HDMI adaptor. No display.
I installed a fresh win11 on separate m.2 thinking it was the win driver. Still same issue. No HDMI output.
I looked at the motherboard but nothing visible issues.
At this point, I am tied of spending time on this stupid laptop. I got a used Mac mini m2 for general use.
I will only use brovo 15 using internal LCD without AMD GPU functionality for light duties when traveling.
Will never buy another MSI product for sure!!
Good luck.
