MSI Center 2.0.57.0 - 2.0.58.0 problems with MSI S360

Hello,
I have an MSI MEG CoreLiquid S360 cooler, and I’ve noticed a problem with recent versions of MSI Center.

With versions 2.0.57.0, and 2.0.58.0, the Fan Control options are missing – I cannot adjust or monitor fan speeds.

I don’t see the fan control specifically in the CoreLiquid plugin, which installs automatically together with MSI Center.
I tried the Core Wizard plugin, and it solves the problem at first, but after a few minutes it stops working.

Also, when the fan control is missing, my AIO runs at 100% power while idle, which is not normal.
I’ve noticed that when MSI Center fan control is unavailable, I also cannot change cooling settings in the BIOS — the BIOS simply doesn’t detect my AIO.
This only happens with versions 2.0.57.0 and 2.0.58.0.

With version 2.0.56.0 – 2.0.55.0 and older, everything works normally, and fan control is available.
This means that something has changed starting from 2.0.57.0 that breaks fan control for the S360.

I’d like to ask:
1. Is MSI aware of this issue?
2. Will there be a fix in an upcoming version?
3. Is there a recommended workaround for now, other than staying on 2.0.56.0 – 2.0.55.0?

I’m posting this in case other users with the same cooler are experiencing the same problem, and so that MSI engineers can take a look.

Could you provide screenshot of the fan settings in MSI Center - Cooling Wizard? Do you set fan speed from "Customize" under MEG Coreliquid S360 section in Cooling Wizard? Make sure clicking "Apply" button on the top-right after the settings.
Could you collect the log of MSI Center with MSI Collect Log Tool by clicking “Collect Log” and provide the Report.ZIP file generated in the folder of the “MSI-Collect-Log-Tool” with link to webstorage for checking? https://download.msi.com/uti_exe/nb/MSI-Collect-Log-Tool.zip

For me, the Cooling Wizard plugin is visible, but it always freezes.
The fan control in the CoreLiquid plugin no longer appears, unlike in version 2.0.55.0 and older releases. Currently, I am using version 2.0.55.0, because the newer versions constantly freeze and contain many bugs.
From the screenshots you shared, I can see Cooling Wizard as well, but fan control should work even without Cooling Wizard. The CoreLiquid plugin alone should provide fan control, just like it did in earlier versions.
The screenshot below shows the CoreLiquid plugin in version 2.0.55.0.
The section marked in red is exactly what is missing in the newer MSI Center versions

I too have an s360 coreiliquid cooler and soon as msi center updates it removes the fan and pump settings for the aio. The update forced as soon as I opened the app please msi put back fan functionality for the coreliquid feature.

MSI has moved the cooling function from CoreLiquid to Cooling Wizard, so from now on you need to install Cooling Wizard in order to control cooling. That's exactly what technical support told me.

Try using the Cooling Wizard plugin, but I’m sure they will freeze, especially when pressing ALT+TAB key combination.
MSI Center is truly a poorly made program that ignores user feedback and doesn’t fix bugs.

You can also try an effective approach.
Download msi center version 2.0.55.0 or an earlier one, and before launching msi center program, block microsoft store updates specifically for msi center. You can do this using Windows AppLocker or a firewall. This method is effective, as it will completely block msi center updates on your PC.

Also try using other cooling programs.
There is a very good open-source program on GitHub called FanControl. With this program, you can control each fan and pump individually, and most importantly, it is completely safe and very stable — unlike MSI Center.

If anyone wants download the older msi center version then just download from techspot or uptodown, but it is not 100% safe,
but this is currently the best way to get the old version of msi center

Cooling wizard doesn't lock up for me but it wants to manage my graphics card and case fans as well which I'd rather it not. Before it's suggested, no toggling the frozr cool or w/e it's called doesn't release the GPU fans from MSI overwriting afterburner/nvidia app fan settings.

Best thing you can is stay on an older version, I am on 2.0.53.0 and don't plan on ever updating as for the past 5 releases it's just caused issues.

Not sure who's bright idea it was to move the core liquid cooling to cooling wizard. Obviously if you have an MSI AIO you're going to have the core liquid module but now you're forcing MSI AIO owners to install two crappy modules instead of one.

It's also a PIA to remove MSI Center and reset the firmware from the AIO. I have to Uninstall(using the "special" MSI uninstaller) because the windows one isn't sufficient enough, restart. I also then have to remove the AIO device from device manager, restart. Then finally install and setup my AIO fan curve/display all over again.

Also it would be nice to have a changelog but I suspect it will never happen because if users saw changes such as the latest one prior to updating, they wouldn't update to begin with.

MSI Center receives updates through the Microsoft Store, so it is impossible to disable only MSI Center updates. However, you can blocking the Microsoft Store auto-update itself.

1. Use the registry to completely disable Microsoft Store auto-updates.
Example:

2. If you have Windows Pro, you can use an easier method with GP.
Go to Group Policy and follow these steps:
Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Store → Turn off Automatic Download and Install of updates → Enabled

Note: If you click Get Updates in the Microsoft Store, MSI Center will also update, so do not click Get Updates.
That block msi center update 100% ENJOY

To clarify, the program does exactly as you suggested (a registry tweak) just available in UI form. It's portable i.e. no install.
