Hi,
I am using MSI Center 2.0.12.0, and if I install FROZR AI (v3.0.0.06) and switch it on, nothing happens with my fan speeds. No matter how I try to configure FROZR AI, there is no change to my system fans. However, if I revert to MSI Center 2.0.10.0 (as is on the Windows Store), FROZR AI now works correctly but I can no longer install Mystic Lights  It seems that I must choose between FROZR AI and Mystic Lights, but I would like to have both working please!

System specs:
  • Intel i9-13900KF
  • MSI MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI
  • MSI RTX 4090 SUPRIM 24G
  • MSI MEG Ai1300P PSU
  • MSI MEG CORELIQUID S360
  • 2 x G.Skill 6400J3239G16G
  • Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64-bit Ver.2009

The newest version of MSI Centre is 2.0.13.0, update to that and see if that changes anything.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. However, I can't seem to find 2.0.13.0 anywhere? The Microsoft Store is showing 2.0.10.0, and the download page for the Z790 Carbon motherboard shows 2.0.12.0. I've got 2.0.12.0 installed and it isn't auto-updating to a newer version. Google turns up comments about 2.0.13.0 but no download links :( I don't suppose you have a link to 2.0.13.0? :-)

No I don't have a direct link. I downloaded from my motherboard page and installed 2.0.12.0 then it auto updated a few days later to 2.0.13.0

MSI Center decided to upgrade to 2.0.13.0 today. Unfortunately, FROZR AI (still at v3.0.0.06) is still not behaving. :(

Hove you tried uninstalling the module and reinstalling it? click on the feature set (4 small boxes on the top right next to settings) the find FROZR AI click the 3 dots next to open and select uninstall, restart, then install again and see if that works.

So just so I understand this correctly. You've completely uninstalled all the modules, then uninstalled MSI SDK etc, then removed any MSI files left over. restarted then installed again?

yes i did, and this morning again; it worked briefly after installing but in the afternoon it crapped out again. The graphics fan tool cooler boost worked this morning... i left the pc idling and in the afternoon the cooler boost button was greyed out; GPU fans at 0 RPM. I started MSI afterburner and it got the fans spinning. I guess something broke in 2.0.13.0.

i found this in the MSI center logs:

2023-04-09 13:10:04.809 Error : 207 >> 0x00 0x07
2023-04-09 13:10:04.810 Exception : Non-negative number required.

Am I right in thinking your your RTX 3090 is an MSI GPU? As to my knowledge MSI Centre is designed to work with MSI products, so if your GPU is not an MSI GPU that could be an issue, though I may be wrong. AS an FYI as some/maybe many people don't know,(Myself included till a few weeks ago) MSI Afterburner is not actually an MSI product, just sponsored by MSI and that's how the MSI name is attached to it.

If your GPU is an MSI GPU then it maybe a conflict with the Z690 boards as I have no problems with my MSI Z590 and MSI RTX 3070.

Just to rule out a windows error, open command prompt in admin mode and type sfc /scannow
This will check windows for any corrupt files and redownload them to repair the issues.

That's good news. It's a handy command to know and a good first step when trouble shooting to rule out a windows problem.

unfortunately MSI Center crapped out after idling for a few hours; sleep and hibernate had the same effect breaking MSI Center controlling the GPU fans.
this started happening after ~2.0.13.0 on the latest NVIDIA drivers 531.41; i will stick to afterburner for now.
