MSI Center makes CPU 100% load

Hi. The problem is described in the title. Everytime my PC starts I have 100% CPU load and a light indication of CPU temperatures rising (I set this up in the MSI Center Mystic Light). I have NO viruses or any software that can load my Core-i7 13700 like that especially on load. So I started digging and found a temporary solution - resetting the power plan. As soon as I reset the current powerplan tha CPU usage magically lowers to 2-5% total. As soon as I reboot the 100% CPU load returns. So I started switching off programs one by one from the StartUP menu and guess what - as soon as I removed MSI Center from there the CPU 100% load disappeared even after rebooting. So I started digging further and discovered that MSI Center User Scenarios are to hold answer, because as soon as I start this module it messes somehow with the Win10 power plan and make the OS think the PC need higher power and thus makes the whole PC work at higher voltages and fans rotations. The Balanced scenario gives a 100% CPU load, the Silent one - a 90% CPU load (and these numbers do not change!!!) Can anyone from MSI elaborate on this? Is there a better fix than uninstalling the MSI Center?

What's the MSI Centre Build? Have you tried a fresh install of MSI centre? Make sure you uninstall the MSI SDK also, as to be this sounds like a bugged instal.

The build is the last one (2023-02-23) available on the MSI site under my motherboard section here https://ru.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z790-P-WIFI/support#utility I also tryed direct download from here https://www.msi.com/Landing/MSI-Center and here https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/msi-center/9NVMNJCR03XV?hl=en-au&gl=au
All the same! I tryed uninstalling the MSI Center with the MSI uninstall utility - in vain. So I wrote to the MSI support and got this answer
PS: "Sinсe the problem was solved by deleting it" - the support means that the problem disappeared after I deleted the MSI Center as I described above.
So as of now I' using MSI Center only for setting up my ARGB with Mystic Light, without the other modules installed.

Have you tried downloading it via the Microsoft store? what modules are giving you the problem? A dumb question and shouldn't make a difference, but is your BIOS up to date?
A full system spec would be helpful also.

keith3_16, please, pay attention. I wrote that I tried "https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/msi-center/9NVMNJCR03XV?hl=en-au&gl=au " above. And I also wrote "So I started digging further and discovered that MSI Center User Scenarios are to hold answer". My BIOS is up to date - the latest version from here https://ru.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z790-P-WIFI/support#bios (2023-01-09).
The specs:

MSI Center latest version 2.0.10.0
I have issues with mine as well. Every so often, Computer restarts itself out of the blue, and when it boots back up, either MSI Center fails to load, or starts up and have to click checkmarks and click on buttons to get back to my user profile, other times, the CPU fan just stops turning, and I have to get back into MSI Center and set it up again, but fan profile is not customizable. I have no idea if my Custom Profile is saved or not, etc... seems very buggy to me... sometimes, the computer will restart several times, just because, for no reason, and each time MSI Center seems like the culprit. I don't know... but I know that it makes me mad every time it happens. I could be in the middle of a work load and this sh!t happens to me... not a reliable computer MSI.

I'd add to that. In case you have MSI User scenario chosen you will get power management glitch like I described above. In your case I am sure you have an overheating - thus a reboot. Not because your CPU fan Noctua does not do the job but because of MSI Center makes your system think it need to work faster. As I described above the MSI Centre messes with the Windows power management plan and this leads to faulty behaviour of components like CPU and fans. I'd research this problem as soon as possible if I were MSI since this is actually really serious! I've seen complaints about MSI Centre on Reddit as well - all connected with either User scenarios or system tweaking with it.

I didn't want to share this, however, not sure of the relevance
MSI Shut Down

Frozer Heat Shield No Contact

Speaking of reboots. Just to clear this out - should you disable (delete) the User Scenarios module from MSI Center OR delete the MSI Center on the whole does this issue reappear?
I will try that. I just downloaded the MSI Log Collect Tool and the Uninstaller Tool and will trouble shoot this and see if it makes any difference.

You mentioned in your title of this Thread, now that I understand it better, you are saying that the CPU loads up 100% and that is because OS and MSI Center are battling over who has control over cooling solution and that MSI Center is causing this problem.

Ok, I won't bore you with the details. First off, I'm happy for You, but confused for me. I will let the pictures say a 1000 words for me...>>>

How is it possible that on the MSI site the only version available right now is 2.0.12.0? Plus I got auto update enabled and got the 12 is still
I had a similar issue with RODE Wireless Go II
I went through all the processes of setting up the device, updated etc., and was commenting on some new experiences with it on a forum, and someone said "New Update" blaa blaa bla... so I went and checked it out, said I had the most recent Update, but the other one wasn't there. I communicated with the support team and they told me, "oh ya, it was a glitch, and I did have the lastest firmware updates on my device" .... I was like  ok, good to know... thanks for the information, have a nice day. :D

strangely they have a glitch again.... Well, actually I went to the microsoft ftore page and there was an update (I've just updated) BUT on the appropriate page on the MSI site there is still the 12 version. Think they just forgot to upload it on to their own site ^^

I don't know what in the McF#ckery is going on, but I turned on my PC today, and MSI License Agreement pops up, have to read, click check mark in box and agreed. Well, I had to reinstall the whole MSI software again (Version 13 wtf ), so it would appear, I don't want to bore you with the details, but this is how I set it up...>>> Appears to be working again, and notice on the "Hardware Monitoring" (picture 17, and 20) that the Fan is Present again on the Right Column, it was there before, disappeared, and now has reappeared, now at the top of the list, not at the bottom... curious...hmmmmm  Hope it stays like this and that I don't have any surprise reboots. I am going to leave everything as it was. I haven't changed anything since I originally set this PC up a Year ago with MSI Center, I forget the version number... 🤞
