MSI Center won't start

I have MSI Center installed from Microsoft Store and it had always worked before. But when I recently tried to launch the app, the app won't start and hangs at "UI initialization". When I click the MSI Center icon in the systray a window pops up saying "Please remove the network monitoring program. And reopen MSI Center."
My MSI hardware is B450M Mortar motherboard. My Windows version is Windows 11 Pro 22631.3737. I have no "network monitoring program" installed and I didn't install any new program since the last time MSI Center worked.
I checked the log in C:\ProgramData\MSI\MSI Center\DCv2\$SID$\DCv2_2024_07_06.txt and there is an error entry "Send CMD_PlatformInfo error = Object reference not set to an instance of an object." right before the app hangs, suggesting some .NET runtime may be missing from my system, but without further information I have no idea what is missing.
Below are the things I tried to fix this, but none of them worked:
1. Disabling all functions (including Windows Defender and firewalls) in Windows Security.
2. Using "Clean Center Master" to uninstall MSI Center and reinstall it from Microsoft Store.
3. Repairing Windows with "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth".
4. Reinstall Windows in-place (not a clean reinstall) with an Windows 11 ISO image.
If I install MSI Center on a clean install of Windows 11 the app works fine, but a clean reinstall of my Windows will be way too much trouble and I would really prefer not to do that.
Is there some way to increase the verbosity of the log so I can find out what dependency of MSI Center may be missing from my system? Or maybe something (e.g. runtime package) I can try to (re)install?

Try this, it has worked for some people.
1. Uninstall MSI Centre and MSI Centre SDK
2. Restart
3. Delete all MSI Files under C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI\ & %programdata% as well as %appdata%.
4. Run CleanCenterMaster (from here: https://download.msi.com/uti_exe/nb/CleanCenterMaster.zip) - this will restart.
5. Run CMD as Admin => enter sfc /scannow and let this complete.
6. Restart
7. Now install MSI Center via MS Store or MSI website https://download.msi.com/uti_exe/mb/MSI-Center.zip

Also don't forget to run MSI Centre as ADMIN again after update. Just to rule out that being the problem.

Followed step-by-step, didn't work..

I've been experiencing the same issue. Uninstalling, cleaning, and reinstalling offers no solution. Turned off anti-virus and still no dice.

My log in C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI\MSI Center\Log\MSI Center had the same error that you showed.
This is really annoying. I put my computer on quiet (power-saving) mode with MSI Center and now I have no way to change back to normal mode.

I had the exact same issue, and it started around the same time when this thread was created. I tried different things, included what is suggested in this thread, but nothing worked for me.
I tried installing MSI Dragon Center, then MSI Center Pro, but both said my laptop (MSI Raider GE76) was not supported.
Convinced it was an update issue, I looked for the previous version of MSI Center (v2.0.37), and I found it there: https://msi-center.en.uptodown.com/windows/download/1015395994
Installing this version made MSI Center work again on my laptop, and that's a big relief, because my laptop has been throttling so bad without proper fan/perf control.
All previous versions of MSI Center can be found here: https://msi-center.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions
Note that the latest version, the one incriminated, was released on 7/2/2024, or precisely around the same time as when the problem appeared. Most likely not a coincidence.

Thank you! This helps a lot. It didn't occur to me roll back MSI Center version because I figured if it worked on a fresh Windows install it must be something wrong with my system instead of MSI Center itself. So it looks like some kind of compatibility issue of this new version of MSI Center after all. I don't see anywhere on this website for bug reports so hopefully MSI engineers do check this forum and can fix this issue for the next version.

Unfortunately, I spoke too fast. MSI Center keeps updating even if you turn auto update off. You have to uninstall/reinstall once a day haha...
I am sure we could block connection to MSI Update server in the firewall or hosts file, but I someone would have to capture its IP(s).

You'll have to turn off auto update in the Microsoft store as well. As you can also get MSI centre from there.
