Hi everyone,
I'm currently playing Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) on my MSI Claw 8 AI, but the game keeps crashing abruptly. I checked the Windows Event Viewer, and there is a specific chain of errors happening at the exact same second every time it crashes.
The Errors:
1. Event ID 1005 (Application Error): Windows says it cannot access the file because of a network/disk connection problem. (Additional Data: Error value 0x0).
2. Event ID 1000 (Application Error): Immediately follows, faulting application re9.exe, Exception code: 0xc000001d (Illegal Instruction).
It looks like the SSD/storage is momentarily dropping connection, causing corrupted data to hit the RAM/CPU, leading to the 0xc000001d crash.
Troubleshooting steps I have ALREADY tried (but failed to fix the issue):
- Ran chkdsk /f on the game drive to fix any file system errors.
- Verified the integrity of the game files on Steam.
- Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game.
- Updated the GPU drivers to the latest version.
- Note: The game is installed on the internal SSD, not a MicroSD card.
Has anyone experienced this specific storage drop/crash issue on the Claw 8 AI? Could this be related to thermal throttling of the SSD, an Intel storage driver issue, or a BIOS power-management bug?
Any advice or BIOS/Firmware update recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
