Hi all,
I have bought a MSI Creator 17 B11UG-019ES Interl Core i7-11800H/32GB/1TB SSD/RTX 3070/17.3'' some years ago and I could not make it work with an external monitor. I have tried some different monitors (1920x1080 resolution) and even a TV with 4K resolution and the result is the same for all of them.
I want to connect an external monitor to use it as an extension of the main monitor of the laptop, but after some minutes, the external monitor starts to suffer some lag and even some performance issues. So, it becomes impossible to really use it as external monitor. I was monitoring the temperatures, resources, configuration and everything seems to be normal. After some time it recovers itself but then it started again. In my laptop I'm using Windows 11 Pro.
Is there a hint to check what could be really the issue ? Maybe is needed some extra configuration ?

There are multiple display ports on the laptop, which port are you using with the issue? Have you ever tried on another port or different cables?

Hi Edric, I've tried with multiple HDMI cables and the result is the same for all of them. About the ports, it only has 1 HDMI port. Maybe you are talking about using som USB-c port with a converter to HDMI ?

It has two Display Ports on those USBs:
1x Thunderbolt™ 4 (DisplayPort™/ Power Delivery 3.0)
1x Type-C (USB3.2 Gen2 / DisplayPort™)
2x Type-A USB3.2 Gen2
1x SD (XC/HC) Card Reader
1x HDMI™ 2.1 (8K @ 60Hz / 4K @ 120Hz)
1x RJ45

I didn't realize that the USB-c were display ports actually as both of you mentioned. When connecting the monitor to one of those display ports instead of HDMI, everything seems to be working fine. Given that the HDMI port is HDMI 2.1, I guess there might be some incompatibility with the port and a Full HD monitor. It is still strange that it didn't work with a 4K TV (maybe because of the refresh frequency), but it is enough if it works with the display port.

Thank you so much @zipper.sippola and @Edric. It was really really useful.
