MSI Crosshair 15 (B12U) Latest driver updates.

Which update did you install and from where?
Did you install the latest MS updates ? Some are not to be installed
just yet as they are causing problems and MS has acknowledged as much.
Were these updates necessary?
Roll back one by one the updates you did and see which one(s) is causing
this hike in temps.
Do you have a fan profile on the Advanced fan control in MSI Center?

Hi thank you for the reply,

Here's a log of the latest updates I've done through Windows Update (attached below)

the rest are just some Definition updates.

Aside from that, I did the latest Nvidia (546.65) driver update, and rolled it back a few hours ago back to 546.33 which worked fine before the issue started, but now isn't so it's probably not that but I'm not sure.

But of course I also did the big boy, 23H2 (I'm on Windows 11)

Could you let me know where to find the article/post by Microsoft acknowledging which of their updates I shouldn't have done? This could potentially help me out a lot,

Thank you @scorpiitec15e702ef 🙏

As far as fan profiles, I just use the default Balanced or Extreme Performance based on my needs (I'm a digital artist and need the power often)

Edit: I was checking Task Manager for CPU % usage spikes and noticed some "Antimalware Service Executable" which I'm guessing is referring to Microsoft's antimalware tool

However this issue only started a couple days ago so I don't know if it could be this.

My CPU temps are skyrocketing even on idle. It's jumping to 90C + and drops to 50~ and goes constantly. Before the updates, on idle I would be at around 31-37C all times.
Try to uninstall the firmware update.

I think I found the issue,
Seems that a certain extension I added to Chrome (for translations and text-to-speech) from the Extensions store was causing a significant amount of CPU usage leak, and was getting worse. As soon as I removed that extension, my temps calmed down again, lol.

I hope that was it, because I really don't wanna undo the firmwares!

Google should really do better vetting of the extensions they allow on their web store.

Probably because there are newer ones available.

@Grieverokami

I did notice that there is a small sound delay at the beginning of playing a sound (like a error message in windows that you hear for half, or the begin sound when windows starts). I did not bother about it because in games or playing movies i don't have a delay BUT i whas thinking what could be the cause. So i did some research of my own and after that i was looking online to confirm it (the sound has some sort of power saving as i thought). This regedit will fix the issue (found it online). After you changed the values you need to reboot in order to get it to work. I have tested this and i can confirm this solved my sound delay and the plopping sound.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001\PowerSettings (This one is for the realtek card)

There are many regedit and msconfig tips on the internet, which are useless. But this one is really good.
There should be a thread with things like that which should be sticky.
Thanks for that.
Do you thing there might be a similar regedit for mediatek wifi and realtek lan?

It worked on an old computer that had a 23H1.
I will have to reboot multiple times :D
Happy New Year 👍

WHAT? there's no such thing as a "23H1" release, Pesedm
I assume that was a typo as Windows 11 feature updates are always H2 releases that are released in the 2hd half of the year (ex. 21H2, 22H2 & 23H2)

Realtek Audio Console 1.50.319.0 is out!.

I did read recently in another forum that version 1.50.322.0 of Realtek Audio Console came out

Next week there will be a hotfix released, for now i wont touch it my self 😂
Just got this as I was looking over this thread:

I'll be installing it later today. Can't see how so many of you are having problems with these drivers.
So far (touch wood) I haven't seen any problems with any of them. This is usually the Only driver I
install as they are rolled out.

Well i have problems with the 545 and 546 drivers, my games stutter (even old ones from 2005-2009) after closing the game i get a bsod nvlddmkm error. When i use 537.58 driver i have zero issues and my games are stutter free. When i look at reddit, nvidia forums and a guru forum many people complains about this and they all run windows 11. Windows 10 has less issues with those drivers. Nvidia also said Microsoft has to fix this because it’s not a driver issue but something ms didn’t test on windows 11 (probably a update that fails).

Same here. So far every game i have tried, even the demanding ones i have had buttery smooth experiences for the most part. Guess we are the lucky ones in that regard.

Were those drivers from October 2023 and onwards? I can safely say those were the times i was starting to get my first ever nvlddmkm error Bluescreens rather frequently until the latest Nvidia Game Ready driver updates from December onwards. Since then it's been smooth sailing gamign wise.
EDIT
New INTEL Graphics Driver update dropped according to INTEL Driver support assistant. Dropped immediately after updating to the latest Game ready Driver.
UPDATE
It started to download but now it keeps failing to initiate. Strange.

True, BUT in windows 10 they had 19H1, 20H1, 21H1. The next windows 11 update (big one) will be released in april 2024 called 24H1

I would also recommend the program wushowhide to disable auto update on the intel graphics. This because if you use intel auto updater (or intel website) to update the Intel ARC driver windows update always kicks in and downgrades the driver to a much older one. Which in many cases you have to do multiple reboots unnecessary.

* Delete the
nvidia telemetry
* Fix the realtek audio delay
