I would recommend the program wushowhide to disable auto update on the intel graphics. This because if you use intel auto updater (or intel website) to update the Intel ARC driver windows update always kicks in and downgrades the driver to a much older one. Which in many cases you have to do multiple reboots unnecessary.

How is linux running on your Katana ??? Did you had any install issues ?. I am still thinking to switch to linux. I did use Pop OS! alot on my older acer machine (for over a year) and i loved it. Still following their progress on Cosmic.

I am not sure wat happend, but installing the new bluetooth driver removed my entire intel gpu driver. Need to reinstall it 😂. Good thing is i already was planning to update.

Did you check:
https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=f5b006ea89
Manjaro works fine on the Katana 13BSV. All hardware is working. I have a long history with Linux and dualboot.
At the end of the nineties I started with Slackware, switched to SuSE for a long time, switched then to Ubuntu, tried some other distributions.
Some years ago I made the switch to rolling releases (like Arch or Suse Thumbeweed). The problem was always my printer. A Canon MG 3250 connected over Wlan to my router.
I could not get it configured like in Windows. Someday I tried Manjaro and it was easy to configure it. So I ended on Manjaro and still use it.
As file system I use ext4 and the complete Linux system is encrypted.
I don't know much about Pop OS but what I know is that System76 makes good Linux Laptops. So I guess that they know how to make a good distribution.
A good source for information is https://distrowatch.com/ but looks like the site is down on the moment.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter which distribution you use.
You need a forum like this if you run in problems where the users not think they are better than others.
The desktop environment (DE) matters. It is a difference if you use KDE, Gnome, Sway or whatever. I use Gnome and configure it that it almost looks like Windows 10 / 11.. :D
But this is a personal taste.

I should add:
This week I had to reinstall Manjaro because of my curiosity. Do you know the difference between X and Wayland? :sneaky:
With a hybrid graphic system and Gnome it is complicated to use Wayland. I just played around. I was able to get the system to use Wayland.
Desktop was 800x600 and I found no way to change this to a higher resolution. And I was not in the mood to remove / rewind all what I did.
And here is this problem with this Windows Update which fails if the recovery partition is too small. Resizing a encrypted ext4 partition is possible but tricky.
So I used my Live System to format the Linux partition and then to resize it to make the recovery partition a bit bigger.
After this I installed Manjaro again. All problems solved for now. :D

Started with Zorin 16 2 or 3 years ago because of their layouts that looked alot like windows. That impressed me so much, but switched to pop os because of the faster updates and a much stable linux compared to zorin. With zorin i had alot of issues to get stuck on the login screen where my password did not work and gaved alot errors. I tried arch linux, manjaro, linux mint 17, ubuntu in the past but getting games to work was a nightmare. Till i tried linux 2-3 years ago and steam created their own deck, i am pretty sure linux will get more users onboard. Many people are starting to hate all the privacy issues in windows.

Every Linux distribution has problems from time to time. [***CENSORED***] happens.
Personally I don't think that Linux will get more users on the desktop. Every year somebody says: "This year is the year of the Linux desktop." It will not happen.
Many people hate the ..... But how much really change there OS? Look to the smartphone market. Android is a Linux. With privacy issues. IOS? Privacy issues.
People grow up with Windows. In School, on Universities, when they learn a profession.
Do you know that Bill Gates used some hacks at his university and almost got fired?

True, but windows 12 would be a cloud os. I am pretty sure most users won’t accept this. I see alot of young people making the switch to linux. I really wonder how big linux will be in user base in lets say 5 years ? It is growing since steamos has been released :).

Gnome is going downwards with all the things they change, they make it more user unfriendly. Cinnamon i do like and kde, but really looking forward to see cosmic from system76. PopOS is a great distro, aiming towards gamers. I used 21.04, 21.10 and 22.04 and they all offered upgrades within the OS (without needing to reinstall everything). They even create restore points. They share 2 iso files, one for amd and one for nvidia. I was really amazed how fast everything was setup on my old acer machine. Took a few minutes while in windows i have countless reboots and updates and takes up alot of time. Linux just updates and has no reboots at all (unless its a kernel update or something really important).

Most games i play worked under great linux. I finished the mass effect legendary edition without any problems, it ran butter smooth. Same counts for Lego Star Wars the Skywalker saga and Crysis Remastered.

I am back to Windows 11 because i purchased my MSI notebook that came preinstalled with it, but i am still thinking about switching to linux alot. This because Microsoft keep forcing things on users and i am pretty sick of it.

I don't think this will happen. Windows is widely used in companies and when they make it a cloud OS then a lot of this companies will look elsewhere.

Still satisfied with with Gnome. Every DE has some problems.

If my memory doesn't fails me here was some distributions with the same goal. (Garuda?)

This is the normal Linux way. From Ubuntu 15.04 -> 15.10 -> 16.04 and so on. Half year releases in April and October. Plus the LTS distributions with 3 years support.
For my taste rolling releases suit me better. And here is Gentoo which uses its own way.
They share 2 iso files, one for amd and one for nvidia.
This is new for me. You don't need two ISO. I am sure if i put my Live Linux stick in an AMD machine it will work and I can install.
On my Intel/Nvidia machine the Boot Screen asks me if I want to use the open or the proprietary Nvidia driver. I believe the same will happen on a Intel/AMD combi and also on a AMD/Nvidia (and so on) machine. There is no magic involved.
As a Gamer you are pushed to use the proprietary drivers (because the open drivers are s**t) and this is against the rules which some apologists try to set.
One of the first games with a good graphic was OilRush from Unigene back in 2012. Since then it is a slow but steady progress. As Steam stepped in it made a big step forward.
I am back to Windows 11 because i purchased my MSI notebook that came preinstalled with it, but i am still thinking about switching to linux alot.
This is the easiest step. Resize a partition an set up a Dual Boot system. :D
This because Microsoft keep forcing things on users and i am pretty sick of it.
Have no real meaning to it. Android is the same way. 24/7 on - always online. Maybe this is the way forward, maybe it is a big mistake. Our grandchildren will know the truth.
In Europe new cars must have a blackbox in the near future. The discussion where owns the data is on.
Medical insurance companies give you discount when you share your data (and live a healthy life or what they believe a healthy life is).
