MSI Crosshair 15 (B12U) Latest driver updates.

Msi doesnt update a lot, all they do is change the date so it does look like they are supporting the model alot. Last bios update was from march or april (out of my mind) for my unit.
Okay, good to know. I thought i was imagining things with the dates being different all the time. Truth be told I've never learnt how to update BIOS until now. Even did the INTEL security patch thing which wasn't too difficult but the instructions were a bit off.

Everything from post 1 updated in this post including the latest updates till date.

I would also recommend the program wushowhide to disable auto update on the intel graphics. This because if you use intel auto updater (or intel website) to update the Intel ARC driver windows update always kicks in and downgrades the driver to a much older one. Which in many cases you have to do multiple reboots unnecessary.

To install a .cab file:
1. Extract the cab file anywhere you want
2. Go to your device manager (Computer -> Control Panel -> All control panel items)
3. When the device manager is open click on your computers name in the list.
4. Now at top select “Action”
5. Select “add drivers”
6. Select the path where you extracted your .cab file

Holy! How many of these are there? No surprise after the last update it broke on me again.
EDIT
Ill wait for the Graphics driver to appear on the update tool.

I finally fixed it on my side. The intel forums are not much of a help. In systemconfig disable the arc services. The arc services is the problem and prevents arc control from starting when booting.

1. Open start
2. Write msconfig
3. Hit services
4. Hit hide all microsoft services (for easy search)
5. Disable the Intel(R) Arc Control Services

When i reboot i only see the things from my screenshot, the results is a working Arc Control. The arc services from both drivers (4577 and 4578) are the issue.

Nice one mate. I'll give it a go. It looks like the menu does not allow for individual services to be disabled. The only options are "Enable all" and "Disable All".

Okay looks like it works. Lets see if t still works after another restart.

EDIT: In fixing this, I ended up accidentally disabling all NVIDIA Services inlcuding GeForce Experience and im assuming some other important things along the way. Whoops!

Yeah i saw, enable everything and just disable the arch services. You probably hit the disable all button.

Done, everything is back to normal. Thanks for the workaround mate.
Speaking of NVIDIA, I have a question. Do you find GeForce Experience's optimization tool useful and accurate and does it work for you when gaming if any? I ask because it seems to be leading me to turn on Ray Tracing when i know full well after testing it one time that it tanked my fps to under 45.

I am using nvidia since 2003 (Geforce FX 5500) and never used that program. I always configure my games manually in game.

Fair enough. I think I'll keep playing around till i find the right balance. So far Ray Tracing is a no go if you want complete stability.

I am at work right now till 9pm european time and i have not checked my notebook. When i am at home i will upload them. Thanks for sharing.

So will there be a new Intel or AMD Firmware update to address the latest round of Spectre style security vulnerabilities? I think i had this happen to me once in 2018 when my entire hard drive bricked. Not fun.

Intel processor 6th gen through 11th gen are vulnerable. 12th and 13th gen are not.

List of affected cpu’s
If it's only Gen 6 to 11, then nothing will be done.
Just have to be more careful what you download and from what website you download it.

Anything I have a doubt about, I disregard, if I must have, then I use my oldest laptop to do it.
Just 2 screws then the SSD is out to either do a virus scan from another laptop or just insert back in my backup HDD.

the link to this is no longer working (says " The transfer you requested has been deleted. "). please re-upload to a different site (maybe either MEGA, Google Drive or some other cloud site)

Today Windows Update say this:

wow. once again, windows update offers new drivers early on and the ms update catalog site continues to fall behind schedule as these new driver versions are not being mentioned on the ms catalog site
