MSI Crosshair 15 (B12U) Latest driver updates.

I have the Pulse 15 B13VGK, and some game framerates tanked with the latest Nvidia drivers. I was playing Halo 2, and I struggled with 60fps. I rolled back to 552.44, and all my frames were maxed out and butter smooth again. Nvidia has not given much love to their last two offerings. I will stick with my current driver until the issues are resolved.

Nvidia driver above 550 is weird for me, cause i use the laptop on hybrid mode unlike any previous driver as long as the "NVIDIA Display Container LS" services running the Power LED wont change to blue always red meaning that dGpu keeps active. The only way is to disable the "NVIDIA Display Container LS" services or set it to manual so if i want to open Nvidia Control Panel i gotta turn it on first.

Well I was talking about my 2 laptops that I tried with these drivers, not a desktop PC!
Didn't have the time yet to confirm with my other laptops, my old desktop, I only use as a server in the basement.
If you don't have any issues with your desktop PC, then I guess it doesn't concern you!
The games i played so far are Call to Arms, Call to Arms - Gates of Hell Ostfront and Sniper Elite 5. So far the latest drivers did not cause any problems for me.

I own my notebook for over a year and the 551.86 driver whas the first driver that switched my led button from orange to white. Now i have a newer driver (nvidia and intel) installed and it's back to orange again. It is also possible it's related to the intel arc drivers and not nvidia.

Edit: It seems intel.

Well in my case it was after installing the 555.85 on my GP66 12UGS with the RTX 3070 Ti, World of Warships and The Division 2 ran fine, but when I came to play The Last of Us part 1,
then that's when I had the RAM and VRAM warning and game crashing afterwards, so after doing this twice, I then logged in the game with my GP68HX 13VH, with an old driver,
I then put all graphic settings to low, then logged off, before logging back in I put paging file to 32GB, to give all chances to the driver, but to no avail, even at LOW, same error.
I then upgraded to 555.99 and tried out gaming in the same order, but World of Warships crashed every time at about 20-25 minutes in game, during a match of course.
Just for my personal satisfaction, I tried Last of Us part 1 again, but same error also, so back to 551.86 for me, I also just installed 551.86, to avoid any hassle on my GP68HX 13VH,
but I will upgrade it on the weekend to 555.99 to see if it's only the GP66 12UGS that has the issues, then after will upgrade the GE66 10SFS, if results are satisfactory.
In the past I had a driver that might cause issues, but this year is the jackpot from incompetence from Microsoft and Nvidia, My all AMD G-14s are running fine though!
The other weekends will try the Stealth 14, GS65 9SD and GE72 6QF, if it rains, but I'd rather move ahead in The Last of Us part 1, AC Valhalla, The Division 2 and a little of World of Warships.

You do know Halo 2 is the worst port from the entire series ? I just installed Halo The Master Chief Collection on my machine and fired up reach. Everything maxed out and no issues here with the latest driver.

Good I just purchased Halo Master Chief yesterday and installed it on my GE66 10SFS, looking forward to try it out a little this weekend, but I will keep for gaming on a rainy day.
On special on Steam for most of this month, at that price, totally worth it.

Good purchase! I bought it back in 2022 for €14,95 when it was on sale that time. I bought every halo game on steam as i totally love the series (even the one on the microsoft store, halo wars 2). I was happy they released the other games as well for pc, i fail to understand why they did not port halo 5!.

Well it's on special now for $12.49 CAD (8.41EUR)couldn't pass that up, been a long while since I played HALO on my old Xbox and PC.
In those days, single threaded CPU was still a thing, core duo and quad core, was just an engineers dream!
With my P4T, Pentium 4 1.4Ghz (1.7Ghz OC) CPU with 384MB of RDRAM PC800 and a GeForce 2 MX400 64MB GPU,
a beast of a machine, took me a while to save up the money for that one.

Yes, it's terrible on PC because of the shader loading. However, a Vulkan DLL was released, which loads the shaders correctly and runs smoothly. Someone did the job for 343, who don't really care.

Can you post the site where to get it ? Halo 2 was developed by Bungie 😅.
It certainly was, but as an original Halo 2 player back in 2004, I remember it running much better with Bungie, long before 343 got their hands on it, lol.
Download the Vulcan API from GitHub (Version 2).

Unzip Direct3D11.dll and dxgi.dll from the GitHub .tar archive into the MCC's exe location, which is in \steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\mcc\binaries\win64, and run with anti-cheat disabled. When you start playing, the difference should be night and day. You no longer have to play it for hours to load the shader cache.

Edit: I think you have to unzip it twice.

For me that's the not case. Nothing is using the dGpu but the light still red (orange).

Well in my case it depends on the laptop, but normally this will happen after a Windows update, a following update sometimes will put it back to white.
I even disabled the dGPU in Device Manager, to confirm that it's a Windows issue.
Using CMD (run as admin) and type sfc /scannow has worked a few times, but strangely, not always.
I used to do a EC Reset, or if that failed unplug both battery and CMOS battery for 5 minutes.
But now I just ignore it, since I know it's just a Windows issue, too tedious to pull my hair out every update or so.

I would also recommend the program wushowhide to disable auto update on the intel graphics. If you use the intel auto updater (or intel website) to update the Intel ARC driver windows update always kicks in and downgrades the driver to a much older one. Blocking driver updates DOES NOT prevent the intel GPU driver from downgrading! you really need wushowhide for this.

Anyone ever played chorus ? Bought it during sales for €4,99. Played it today and i love it so far.

First 15 minutes of gameplay: The opening story is the reason i bought it 😅 (i watched the video below before i purchased it).
