erpman 15ac02 e2: Thanks for that info, I don't think the website I got that info from talked about which processors were affected , otherwise I would of stated it here that day. Good to know it's a very limited problem. (Bold text because I copied your name).
Well I finally ordered my new Intel WIFI 7 Killer Series cards & purchased 2 more SSD drives. I only bought 2 TB ones because I cheaped out , $ 150.00 ea. vs $300.00 ea. Looks like next week I'll start making up 2 ISO's, 24H2 & Pop OS .
Thanks for the Intel display driver update, I just had the Intel updater service on (10/9/24) & there was nothing. That's ok.
So now I have 3 WD Black SN850x 2 TB & 2 Samsung 990Pro 2 TB. My Prior GL76 was going thru SSD drives before the processor died & burned out 2 more SSD drives on it's final day. A overheating processor will burn out SSD drives even if the drives themselves are not overheating. I seen a lot of peeps complaining about SSD drives. My question is, what temps is your processor kicking out? I didn't find to much info on the web/web search when this happened to me, but then again that doesn't mean it wasn't out there. I was so pissed off when that happened I forgot to check the warranty status on that laptop. It most likely had 2 months left. Oh well. The one I got for $1,100.00 was a model step up, 360Hz screen, bigger battery, better vid card & a better Mystic Light keyboard and I now have extra parts. So, I'm taking the old bottom & cutting more vent slots in it with a Dremel tool. Example, the 2nd SSD slot has no vent slots like the 1st slot has, so the 1st slot runs cooler. Hopefully more vent slots will help the cooling stand work better, we'll see. I'm also going to try running games from the 2nd SSD drive.
